Killzone 2 and Killzone 3 (PS3) run natively on PC
Project Pyrrhus and Project Helghast recompile Killzone 2 and 3 (PS3) into native PC games from your discs. Partly playable, still under 30 fps.
The PS3 Killzone games recompiled
Developer undecuple is running two unofficial PC ports side by side, made by static recompilation with ps3recomp: Project Helghast for Killzone 3, at version 0.1.9 since November 4, 2026, and Project Pyrrhus for Killzone 2, at version 0.1.11 since November 5. The game's code is translated and then compiled for 64-bit Windows, with a Direct3D 12 renderer. These are neither emulators nor rewrites. The projects' code is licensed under MIT.
The installer contains no game code or data, and no keys: it translates and compiles the game on your PC, from your own files.

What you need
Caution
These are pre-releases. The author works alone with AI coding agents, whose work they review and merge, and says so in each repository. They point out that builds and fixes only come from the projects' GitHub pages, and that nobody will ask you to paste a command into PowerShell. The first Killzone already has its port, Project Vekta, and Killzone Mercenary runs on PC thanks to Project Nativ.

Where do they stand?
- Killzone 2: the intro movie and the menus work, and the first level loads and can be played. A player reports 21 to 28 fps at the start of this level with a laptop RTX 4070. Adjustable field of view and optional FSR 1;
- Killzone 3: all nine chapters load and can be played for a few minutes, at about 16 to 22 fps, with known bugs (audio that stutters now and then, white sky in the distance, imperfect split screen).
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit (or Linux with Proton), a Direct3D 12 graphics card and a processor with AVX and FMA3. 16 GB of memory is recommended for the build;
- your disc, as a folder or a decrypted ISO: Killzone 2 in the American version BCUS98116 (other regions are accepted, but untested), Killzone 3 as BCUS98234;
- the update of your copy (1.29 for Killzone 2, 1.14 for Killzone 3) and its decrypted EBOOT. If you already play the game in RPCS3, the Killzone 2 installer can find everything in the emulator's installation;
- about ten minutes of compiling on a fast PC (about 18 minutes with four jobs for Killzone 2).
