Personal data protection policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the French version prevails.
This page explains what personal data Tgames: Console News and Homebrew (https://www.tgames.fr/en) processes, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.
Data controller
The forum administrator, a private individual acting on a non-professional basis (see the legal notice). Contact: contact form.
Data processed
- Member account: username, email address, password (stored only in irreversibly hashed form), registration date, rank, avatar, signature and the profile fields you choose to fill in (gender, birthday, consoles…).
- Content: posts, topics, private messages, Chatbox messages, poll votes and drafts.
- Technical data: IP address and browser used when registering, logging in and posting, security and moderation logs.
No data is sold or used for advertising. The forum contains no advertising and no audience measurement tools.
Purposes and legal bases
- Running the forum and your account (registration, login, posting, messaging, email notifications) — performance of the terms of use.
- Protecting the forum against spam, abuse and account hacking — legitimate interest.
- Keeping the data needed to identify the author of content — legal obligation (article 6 of the LCEN).
- Displaying external videos and audio in posts — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Recipients
The data is accessible to the administrator and, where necessary for moderation, to the forum team. It is hosted in France by OVH SAS, a technical subcontractor. Your public posts are, by nature, visible to all visitors; your email address and IP address are never displayed publicly.
For readers who do not speak French, the text of posts and titles published in the forums open to guests is automatically translated into English by the Claude service of Anthropic PBC (United States), as a subcontractor, on the basis of legitimate interest (making the forum accessible to everyone). Only this public text is sent: never the username, email address or IP address. Transfers outside the European Union are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Retention periods
- Account and content: as long as the account exists. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time; your public posts may then be kept in anonymised form (“Guest”) so that discussions remain readable.
- IP addresses and connection data: one year, the period set by the regulations on the retention of identification data.
- Cookies: see below.

Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. Most information can be changed directly in your User Control Panel. For any other request (copy of your data, account deletion…), use the contact form: you will receive a reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
Security
The site is only accessible over HTTPS, passwords are irreversibly hashed (bcrypt/argon2), registration is protected against bots and access to the administration is restricted.
Minors
In France, a minor can register alone from the age of 15. Below that age, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required.
