God of War III Remastered runs natively on PC, and soon on Android

SpartanPort 2.6 runs God of War III Remastered natively on PC, playable from start to finish and up to 8K. An Android port is also on the way.

SpartanPort, the PC port

SpartanPort, previously called gow3_pc, is an unofficial port of God of War III Remastered (the PS4 version) for Windows 10 and 11, with an experimental Linux version. It is not an emulator: the game's code runs on the PC, and an environment written for this game alone replaces the PS4's system libraries. The version 2.6.0, released on 19 October 2026, adopts this new name, adds 8K (in beta) and an option that completes QTEs automatically.

What works
  • The full game: cutscenes, sound, saves and autosave. The project describes it as playable from start to finish at 1080p on its test machine.
  • Resolutions from 480p to 4K, plus 8K in beta, and ultrawide formats (21:9, 32:9) in beta.
  • The game engine at 120 fps by default, or at 100, 144 or 240 fps.
  • DualSense, Xbox and other controllers, and keyboard. An in-game menu also offers cheats and orb multipliers.
On a Radeon RX 6700 XT with a Ryzen 5 5600X, the project measured 144 fps on average at 1080p, with the engine at 240 fps. It warns that this figure is only a reference: corrupted textures, crashes and freezes have been reported on other configurations.

And on Android

A second project, gow3_android, ports SpartanPort to ARM64 Android smartphones, without root. The x86-64 PS4 code is translated on the fly by FEXCore, and graphics go through Vulkan with the Turnip driver for Adreno chips. Its version 2.1.7, from 19 October, adds controller button remapping. The project is in development and does not yet publish any performance figures.

What you need

No game files are provided: you need your own copy of the PS4 game, dumped from your console (tested versions: CUSA01623 and CUSA01715 on PC, CUSA01740 at 01.02 on Android). On PC, you need a CPU with AVX and a Vulkan 1.3 graphics card. To emulate the rest of the PS4 library, see our shadPS4 tutorial; the fixes specific to this game come from a fork of shadPS4, after Bloodborne.
