NeoEnabler 0.6: PS4 Pro mode and 120 Hz on PS5
NeoEnabler runs PS4 games that lack PS4 Pro support in Pro mode, up to native 4K, on a jailbroken PS5. Version 0.6 adds 120 Hz support.
PS4 Pro mode for everyone
On PS5, PS4 games with PS4 Pro support benefit from that mode, but the others run as on a standard PS4. NeoEnabler, by gasb07 (GPL-3.0 license), makes them start as if they were on a PS4 Pro, to raise the resolution, up to native 4K.
One patch per game
Forcing the mode is not enough: according to the author, every game tested so far breaks in Pro mode without its patch (black or corrupted image, or the game closing). NeoEnabler therefore ships per-game patches, which fix Pro mode and raise the resolution. They are picked in a panel and rely on ps-patch-system. Games also get the 8 GiB memory budget.
0.5.3 and 0.6.0: 120 Hz

0.5.3 and 0.6.0: 120 Hz
- 0.5.3 (October 28): a 120 Hz video output, which lowers input lag, mainly with VRR, and lets some games reach 120 fps. The GPU boost detects a PS5 Pro and goes up to 2,350 MHz, versus 2,200 MHz on other models. Both additions come from TheaCriminal.
- 0.6.0 (October 29): 120 Hz turns on automatically when launching games that need it, and turns off when they close. Games installed on an external drive finally show up. The 8 GiB budget comes to 12.70, as an experimental option not yet tested on a console.
