Orbit Play: PS5 Remote Play without a PSN account

By Tgames · · 2 min read

Orbit Play lets you play a jailbroken PS5 from a Mac, a Windows or Linux PC, with no PSN account, at home or away, without opening any ports.

Remote Play without PSN

Sony's Remote Play requires a PSN account. Orbit Play, by saawant12 (open source: AGPL-3.0 for the app, GPL-3.0 for its PS5 side), does without one. It enables Remote Play even on a local profile that was never linked to PSN, reads the account ID and exchanges the PIN code by itself.

What you need
  • A PS5 jailbroken with Relapse, and Payload Manager (0.5.2 or 0.6.3) or an ELF loader. Only firmware 13.60 has been tested.
  • An Apple Silicon Mac (macOS 26), a PC running Windows 10 or 11, or Linux (x64 or ARM64).
  • The app sends its own helper to the PS5: you enter the six-digit trust code shown by the console, pair the profile, and play.

At home or away

From 360p to 1080p, at 30 or 60 fps, in H.264 or HEVC. Rumble, adaptive triggers, DualSense haptics over USB, and the microphone all work. Since version 0.5.0 (25 October), you can also play away from home: the computer and the PS5 connect directly, encrypted end to end, with no account to create and no ports to open. The project's server only introduces them to each other: networks that block direct connections will not work.

Version 0.6.0

Released on 29 October, it updates itself from the app, replaces the PS5 helper in one click, and lets you type on the computer's keyboard when the console asks for text. No HDR yet, and no waking from Rest Mode: the console must stay on.

Be careful: if the profile has no account ID, Orbit Play creates one, and this can make existing saves inaccessible. The developer recommends a new PS5 profile with no saves.
