PSP: wireless Pokémon trading with GBAdhoc 4, YouTube with Tilefinch
Two PSP homebrews are in the news: GBAdhoc 4 links two PSPs like a Game Boy cable, and Tilefinch brings a real web browser, YouTube included.
GBAdhoc 4: two PSPs, one link cable
GBAdhoc is a Game Boy Advance, Game Boy and Game Boy Color emulator for PSP, derived from gpSP. Its special feature: linking two PSPs over ad hoc Wi-Fi, like two consoles connected by a cable. Version 4.0.0 was released on 13 October 2026, followed by 4.1.0 on the 14th.
Tilefinch: a modern browser on PSP
The PSP's original browser can no longer display anything of today's web. Tilefinch is written for the console: it displays real HTTPS pages with JavaScript, with no proxy or intermediate computer.
Getting started
Both require a PSP with custom firmware: follow our tutorial for hacking your PSP. Use your own cartridge backups. And for the rest of the software library, see the best PSP homebrews.

- Link cable games: Mario Kart races, Advance Wars, Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Sonic Battle, the last two at full speed.
- Emulated wireless adapter (AGB-015): the Union Room, trades, single and double battles, the Trade Center and Mystery Gift between Pokémon Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen.
- Game Boy Pokémon: trades and battles between Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal.
- New in 4.0: rewind (hold △), sending a save or a state to the neighbouring PSP (never the game itself), turbo buttons and cheat codes.
- Version 4.1 strengthens save protection. Its protocol changes: update both PSPs. A separate cheat pack covers 48 games.
Tilefinch: a modern browser on PSP
The PSP's original browser can no longer display anything of today's web. Tilefinch is written for the console: it displays real HTTPS pages with JavaScript, with no proxy or intermediate computer.
- YouTube and videos on web pages play in 240p or 360p, decoded by the PSP itself. The October updates add playlist playback, a queue and faster browsing in YouTube.
- Five tabs, bookmarks, history, reader mode and dark mode.
- Tested on PSP-3000. The PSP-2000 and Go should work; the PSP-1000 is not supported, for lack of memory (32 MB).
- With the latest version of ARK-4, the PSP connects using WPA2; otherwise, only using WPA (TKIP) or on an open network. An optional plugin launches Tilefinch from the “Internet Browser” icon in the menu (holding L opens the original).
