PS5X360: Xbox 360 games on jailbroken PS5, thanks to Xenia

By Tgames · · 1 min read

Xbox 360 games are coming to the jailbroken PS5: PS5X360, a port of the Xenia Canary emulator, already boots games, with DualSense and Vulkan support.

An emulator that improves every day

PS5X360, released by BrinooTk, came out as a preview on 3 October 2026 and reached version 0.5.9 on 9 October. It is based on Xenia Canary, the go-to Xbox 360 emulator on PC, and on the open-source Vulkan graphics driver adapted to the PS5.
  • A game library with cover art, profiles, and community patches matched to the game's version (disabled by default).
  • ISO, extracted XEX and GOD formats, DLC, and up to four controllers.
  • Since 0.5.9: performance gains that vary from game to game, disc swapping for multi-disc games (Max Payne 3), and even a Kinect simulated with a smartphone (a PC on the same network is required).
  • Per-game settings and a library that updates itself (0.5.7).

What you need

A jailbroken PS5: the author has only tested firmware 13.60, with etaHEN, ShadowMountPlus and kstuff. The application installs to /data/homebrew/PPSA50011/. You need your own games, dumped from your discs: see Xbox 360: copying your games to a hard drive.

Good to know
  • No promise of 60 frames per second or full compatibility: texture, lighting and loading bugs remain.
  • Privacy: the AutoLog option sends excerpts of diagnostic logs to the developer's private Discord channel. To turn it off, create an empty file named no-log-upload in the application's folder.
The jailbroken PS5 now emulates everything from the PS1 to the Xbox 360: see Porpoise, PS5SX2 and XPSemu and PS5CEMU-HAR. And for the same emulator on PC, our Xenia Canary tutorial.
