PS5SX2 2.01: your PS2 discs on PS5, Guitar Hero, and SingStar with the DualSense

The PS2 emulator for jailbroken PS5 reaches 2.01: PS5SX2 now reads your PS2 discs, supports USB guitars, and uses the DualSense microphone.


2.00: frame generation and network play

Version 2.00, released on 8 October 2026 by Swordpdf, brings:

• an experimental frame-generation mode, from 60 to 120 Hz;
• multi-disc games (.m3u lists), and cheat discs (GameShark, CodeBreaker, Action Replay);
• loading games from a network share (NFS, experimental), and therefore from a PC or a NAS;
• 8× internal resolution on PS5 Pro, screen borders (bezels) and RetroAchievements;
• a big speed boost for CPU-heavy games (Call of Duty 2 and 3, Jak 3…).

2.01: PS2 discs, guitars and microphone

Two days later, 2.01 adds:

• support for automatic PS2 disc reading: insert your disc, the emulator makes a copy and then launches the game (in beta, tested on a single disc-drive console);
• support for USB guitars and accessories, with Guitar Hero and Rock Band detection;
• the DualSense microphone used as a PS2 USB microphone: SingStar and Lifeline become playable;
• a single file to launch (ps5sx2-aio.elf), and fixes (black screen with some USB devices, crash beyond 2,000 games, Ratchet & Clank).

What you need
