Thanks DarkScad. Really good tutorial. Personally I'm on cIOS 38 rev 15 and cIOS Pack 3.6dmm on one of the very first Wiis on 4.2E and everything works perfectly except with Guitar Hero III I get latency and other little bugs... Is it possible to install Hermes's cIOS next to Waninkoko's and would it solve this problem without going through a loader? Thanks anyway, I find this tutorial really well made even though I did the mod on my own^^ But I might use it for Hermes. Still, I'm eagerly waiting for Pack 3.7 and I'll do the update with cIOS 38 rev 16 + Pack 3.7^^

P.S: In your tutorial you talk about cIOS 249 rev 14 is that what I call cIOS 38, right? Except I'm on Rev 15....

@ Satmalin: You can follow this tutorial without fear if you do it right there's no risk. By the way when did you buy that Wii?

I had lots of bugs with guitar hero 5, impossible to launch without Hermes's cios.
for guitar hero 3, I also had latency on a wii equipped with a chip... yasoam...
the solution: wii hard drive! and wiiflow, works fine since!

I think so but you're making a mistake naming it that way. It's cIOS 249 and depending on the rev it's based on a different IOS. for more info see the wiki: https://wiki.tgames.fr.nf/wiki/CIOS_CMIOS

Great topic, it's nice to have some detailed explanations and to understand a bit better what happens when hacking the Wii, there's quite a few pretty obscure terms and you get lost pretty quickly at first!

Yesterday the 24th of december, you know how at first "they" asked me to update and me, like a... I did it and now I end up with a "nice" 4.2e. To be more precise I'm stuck at Bootmii which turns out to be essential, can anyone help me?

I can't install it properly, meaning I'm not sure I installed it correctly. please excuse me I'll be back around 9:15pm the time it takes to get home because I'm not there right now.
