SAMBA... an almost magic word, that makes you dream. Use the network made available thanks to the Wii's wifi
in order to share, or rather... to access the files that are on your PC.
The first reaction is to use google to find information about SAMBA.
Big mistake... with SAMBA, google sends you to linux then to the existence
of a PC version that remains impossible to find.
Forget all that! Because unless you're on linux, the only things you need are:
a mouse, a keyboard, an SD, the right homebrews
and no SAMBA at all.

Tested on a Wii <-> Windows XP network
Warning, this tuto isn't meant to explain to you how to use these homebrews
but only to help you set up network access
Homebrews to be tested soon: Wad Mananger GUI/Lan Edition
# These homebrews happily use Hermes' cIOS202 so start by installing it, that way it'll be done:

# In the mplayer_ce folder, open the "smb.conf" file with wordpad. You can assign 5 folders from your pc that will be accessible by mplayer. For each access, 4 pieces of data to enter:
Save the file. Now the folder will be accessible by mplayer.

# Ahhhlala.... I almost forgot "FTP access" to access the HDD plugged into your BOX for example. (see also
[PC TUTORIAL] Access your box's HDD very simply.)
Still in the mplayer_ce folder, open the "ftp.conf" file with wordpad and enter the following values:
for "user" and "pass" you only need to fill them in if you have set usernames and passwords.

# Open with wordpad the WiiXplorer.cfg file found in sd:/config/WiiXplorer/
Still 4 pieces of data to enter:
Save "WiiXplorer.cfg"
Warning WiiXplorer is in beta version, it sometimes crashes if the network is unreachable or misconfigured.

Same principle. Enter the values between the quotes right after the = sign. If you don't have a password, you still need to put a space between the quotes (unlike what the screenshot shows). I haven't tested with share names with a space.

Thanks to Jiiwah for all the corrections.

Homebrews prochainement testés : Wad Mananger GUI/Lan Edition
