First of all you need to have:

- files for 3.55 BLES00933 version 1.01

An external hard drive of more than 20GB formatted in FAT32 to do this use the free software: "fat32formatter" or use the FTP copying method (not covered here).
- MULTIMAN installed on your CFW PS3.

FORMATTING AND COPYING THE GAME TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE Make a copy of the game with the original for this:
1- launch the MULTIMAN homebrew from the CFW PS3.
2- put the game in the console at this point.
3- press the "O" button
4- copy the L.A. NOIRE Bluray disc to an external device (USB),
5- CONFIRM with the "X" button on the controller.
6- the game dump starts.... the game is about 23GB, wait until it reaches 100%
7- Your copy of the game is ready to be modified.
8- Congratulations, you've copied your game to the external hard drive... let's move on.
MODIFYING THE BACKUP 9- Connect your hard drive to your PC.
10- open the new folder that was just created, "GAMES"
11- Open the _BLUS folder for the US version or _BLES for the EUR version
12- Delete the PS3_UPDATE folder (you can do this in ALL your game backups -256mb) to save a bit of space.
13- Replace the "PARAM.SFO" file with the one found in the PS3_GAME folder and the EBOOT.BIN with the ones provided in the archive.
14- Now you've just patched the game...
INSTALLING THE GAME UPDATE
15- you can now copy the game to your PS3 using MULTIMAN.
16- now put the update file "EP1004-BLES00933_00-PATCHLANOIRE0001-A0101-V0100-PE.pkg" on a USB flash drive or at the root of the hard drive, then install it via the console's "Install Package Files" menu.
17- There you go, you're done, launch the game via multiman and PLAY!
