hello, this is a very good tutorial that I'm eager to try, but before that I have a question because I read elsewhere on other forums that those like me who have a wii less than a year old, or black wiis. can't be hacked, I'd like to know if that's true? so can I hack it without risk of bricking my black wii which has a chip, thanks for your answer

Quick answer: that's false!

4.1E, 4.2E and 4.3E are the wiis I've "worked on", white, black and red ones

The only thing is that on most darkwiis........ you have to go through a usb loader that's all.

Hack a chipped darkwii, ......... yes

but well it's chipped ^^

I confirm what zinzindu24 says

all wiis are hackable
afterwards wiis less than 1 year old have a tamper-proof drive, meaning you won't be able to put a burned DVD in your wii.
luckily you'll still be able to run your games with a USB loader such as wiiflow

all you need to do is check your wii's settings for the version and your Firmware (4.2E 4.3E) to pick the right tutorial.

Odd ... A chip on a wii with a tamper-proof drive (d3-2 / d4) ... I thought that didn't work ...

Otherwise, I confirm, softmod is always possible to use a usb loader.

hello, I'd like to thank you for your quick answers actarus1978 and zinzin24. it's true my wii is chipped, I burn a lot, and quite recently I've noticed several of my dvds are no longer recognized. so I was thinking that going through usbload was a good compromise to read the games I need to keep on a disc. since I'm forced to burn them again. but tell me, will hacking my wii have any effect on my chip's functionality (so I could keep reading the burned dvds that still work). and thanks again.

I'm a bit lost....

The LEGO game is almost impossible to find for less than 120€ :-s (that's rough anyway), so I was looking at how to do the hack with Yugiho (found it new for 31€).

I don't quite understand the whole 50 or 60hz thing...
So, I should choose PAL, that's ok, but what about the rest?

If my console is set to 50Hz, I take that one, ok, but what about 60hz mode?
I mean, if I change tv or lend my console and put the wii in 60hz? will I no longer be able to launch the HBC and other wads? or does it risk outright bricking it?

The LEGO In. Jo. hack seems simpler to me... am I on the right track?

PS: When will there be a way to put HBC on 4.3E without an original game???

it's just the time it takes for the hack. Also try 60hz mode... There's a good chance it'll work. The image will flicker less

Ps: no but hack is also possible with a backup on a chipped wii but on a very recent wii the chips are a bit more expensive because of the new drives.

OK, gotcha!!

But, on my tv, when I set it to 60HZ, the image flickers less but it's also a bit blurry and too dark....

The thing is, I don't feel like opening up the wii and modifying it in hardware... I'd much rather do a software hack

hi everyone big issue during the install of trucha bug (without internet) with V1.14 and ios v36.6407 generated by myself via 'nusb' at the root of the sd

following the step and confirming with 'b' to refuse the IOS reload

here's basically the message that shows up:

EXCEPTION (DSI) OCCURED!

gpr00 00000 GPR08........
gpr02.........etc

yet with version 1.11 I can access the menu???? but that one doesn't launch the trucha bug either?!!??

So I had the chance to do two wii on 4.3 for colleagues and I wanted to thank your forum and its wonderful staff for the tutorials and quality support you offer us. Everything worked perfectly with the yu gi oh exploit so a big thank you. Then all that was left was to follow the tutorial and it was in the bag...

despite all that the problem comes back also with IOS236 Installer:

should I in your opinion start everything over (uninstall homebrew and bootmii)??? weird still I'm not skipping any step???§!!

ps: I almost forgot bootmii was installed as ios!

the second is in progress on sd2!!
I don't believe it anymore but the worst part is I'd like to understand why!!!

thanks mamule but even on another sd I quickly get something about ios 15 good 'roughly speaking': I think a proposal to touch it is made to me but the message stays for 5 seconds as soon as I redo the whole job on the sd but after that it starts over as always!

I'm going to have nightmares about this!!!!!! ciao

hi everyone!

after struggling quite a bit with installing the 'bug trucha'
which wouldn't work as well as 'IOS236 Installer'
I finally found online 'Simple-IOS-Patcher-V1.10'
this one did the same job for me as 'trucha bug restorer'

because it seems that v4.3e (v2) or something like that
don't allow the use of these 2 programs

I still want to point out that the info I'm mentioning is my opinion as a
novice, none of it is tested by a pro!, I'm counting on the real pros to correct
if needed what I'm saying

did you properly format your SD card in FAT??

otherwise try with another SD card
