hi,I'm lost and desperate;a friend installed for me on homebrew channel: backup launcher wii gator....anyway I don't know anything about it;my little one wanted to put an original game in;she did an update and bam black screen,no more controllers what a mess!!I have no idea if my friend made a backup or I really don't know;I'm trying to follow the different tutorials but I'm completely stuck;and my friend isn't my friend anymore;so if someone could go back over it from the start it would be very kind of them...thanks!!

your tutorial is excellent, I just have to test it for my wii, I have exactly the same problem! But on other videos I saw that people used other games (Animal Crossing), I was wondering do you absolutely have to use Mario & Zelda?? Thanks in advance for your reply Best regards Kekos-94.

first, do you have a gamecube pad?
just in case... turn off your wii, turn it back on and immediately hold reset for at least 5 seconds to see if you have the preloader.

thanks for taking the trouble to answer me; yes,I have a gc pad,and I tried the preloader trick and nothing happens

try the savemiifree trick with the game cube pad to see if your wii's version displays when you don't have a dvd in it.

by updating the wii shop channel by mistake by installing ios 60
I would have liked to know if it wasn't possible to install a wii system onto an SD card to unlock it.

what protection do you have on your wii? bootmii? ios or boot2? priiloader?

I didn't quite understand your story of how you bricked it. could you give more detail?

So I don't have bootmii installed at all,I have the cioscorp,I bricked it while following this tutorial https://www.metagames-eu.com/forums/les-tutoriaux-wii/depasse-tuto-maj-4-0e-waninkoko-avec-hbc-et-faille-trucha-toujours-fonctionnel-111066.html up to here everything was fine but I wanted to move to 4.2 waninikoko but my backups stopped working so I went back to 3.2 then followed this tutorial again just paragraph 14. At the last question when it asks you to install the latest version of the shop channel press B to decline and then you can reboot the wii...
I made a mistake and put yes I went back to the homebrew channel and when going back to the menu I got black screen.
So there, hoping for a solution.

at what point did you install the cioscorp because if it's before the downgrade to 3.2... you no longer have it.

Hello yet when I went back to 4.0E, my backups showed up fine in the disc channel but when I hit start I got an error message and it wouldn't launch,for the savemiifree I tried several times and it didn't do anything.
I saw that with sneek you can emulate a nand on SD isn't it possible to then reboot on it to unlock it?
Oh yes I also had starfall installed.After that the solution I saw is the infectus chip but you need to master soldering and not mess up.

for infectus, I couldn't tell you. but you need at least a save of your nand I think. there remains the possibility of a chip with autoboot. but you'll need to borrow a working wii in order to activate the chip's autoboot before mounting it on your wii (solderless chip).

your cioscorp is incomplete so unusable. moreover without savemiifree, it's useless.

for the chip, it's not 100% guaranteed since you still need working ios.

As for savemiifree,you need to properly press all 4 directions at the same time and on port 4,because on a brand new wii I managed once or twice so I don't know if it's possible if it works on a boot bricked wii like mine.

yes that's right but you can also try the Y button or right simply with no guarantee either. it all depends on what's left on your wii and it's impossible to know.
