Hello!
Have you bricked your wii? Do you have bootmii in boot2? Do you not have access to the hbc? Do you not have a backup of your nand?
Do you want to fix your wii?
I have the solution!
1)The equipment:
2)Preparing Cboot2
We're going to prepare Cboot2!
a)What is it going to be used for?
Wiigator, the author of Backup Launcher, gives us here a tool to use with BootMii (installed in Boot2 or IOS).
Note: you must remove the gamecube memory card from the 2nd port.
Warning: Use BootMii to create a backup of your NAND first.
This program will launch a patched IOS without installing it by using the BootMii loader. The original BootMii doesn't allow modification of the file system. With this tool, you'll be able to get around this problem.
As an example, Wad Manager by Waninkoko is included.
Thanks to cBoot2 combined with Wad Manager (slightly modified), you can install an old version of IOS (or a Custom IOS) that contains the trucha bug.
Note: You must extract a Wad from a game disc.
You must first choose \"uninstall\" then \"install\" in Wad Manager.
What does it do?
This archive contains tools to patch Boot2. The patched file is installed on the SD as \"/bootmii.armboot.bin\". The file can be started by the Bootmii loader.
cBoot2Installer installs \"/bootmii/armboot.bin\" on the SD card.
You must copy the files onto the SD card. The installer also tries to download the files, but the BOOT2 files aren't available for download (maybe in the future?).
So in fact, we're going to use Cboot2 to boot into the HBC, then fix your problem!
In this tuto, we're going to take the case of a wii with ios 60 uninstalled. Your Wii boots into bootmii in boot2, but you don't have access to the HBC... since you know the problem, you just need to reinstall IOS60...but you don't know how to do it...
So thanks to Cboot2, your wii won't boot into bootmii, but into the hbc, and so, all you'll need to do is reinstall ios 60 via dop ios or another tool!
b)Preparation
Follow these instructions:
Copy all the files from the \"
sdroot\" folder to your SD card. You'll see \"startup.elf\" \"boot.dol\" and the folders in the root of your SD card. You then need to copy additional files onto your SD card:
- On your SD card, in the folder
\"/00000001/00000024/v1042/\", you need to download
cetk under the name cetk, as well as the file
00000004.
-Download
Wadunpacker
-
Follow this tutorial to get the BOOT2-v2-64.wad file .
- Use Wadunpacker on the command line to extract 00000000.app. Copy it into the /00000001/00000001/v2/ folder
- Use the same method to get a .tmd file but rename it \"tmd.2\".
- Same for the .tik file and rename it cetk.
You may get stuck at the step in red: a lot of people don't know how to use command line software.
Here's how you need to do it:
Attila de Wii-Info.fr wrote:start, run (or click on the line where you can type something) type cmd, then enter
in there, enter the letter of the drive where your software is
for example
c:\\
then type cd <folder> (replacing <folder> with the full name of the folder where your program is)
then type wadunpacker thingy.wad replacing thingy.wad with your wad
c) It's always useful to have a friend!
So, now, if you're curious, you may have gone to Cboot2's download page, and maybe read the instructions given there.
You may have compared them with the ones I give in the tuto, and you realized something was missing:
- After copying the files, run cBoot2Installer to get the \"/bootmii/armboot.bin\" file on the SD card.
That's normal! You can't do it yourself!
So, if you know someone who has Cboot2 installed, ask them for their \"armboot.bin\" from the \"bootmii\" folder.
Then place it in YOUR bootmii folder, on your SD.
If you don't know anyone who has cboot2 installed, find someone who will install it, here's how:
-Go into the hbc
-Launch the cboot2 installer
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
-Wait
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Put your SD card in the computer, and go into the bootmii folder, then find the \"armboot.bin\".
You know what you have left to do!
3)The debricking
Put your SD card in your wii, and start it up!
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
MAGIC! It boots into the HBC! ::surprised::
WARNING! It may also boot into Wadmanager!
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
We're going to go back to our example of a wii bricked from uninstalling ios 60.
So, we're going to launch Dop-Ios...
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
...and install ios 60.
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
It offers to patch the IOS. If you're on 4.0/4.1, accept!
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The installation proceeds normally...
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
...Wait...
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The installation is finished!
Your Wii is fixed.
BONUS) How to change the homebrew you want to boot into???
Well... as you saw, in the tuto, we boot by default into Wadmanager.
Me, in my case, for dop-ios, how did I manage to boot into dop-ios?????
You don't know?
Let me explain.
At the root of the SD card, you have all the Cboot2 files .... and .... a boot.dol!
This boot.dol .... what do you think it is? It's your homebrew!!!
So, in conclusion:
At the
root of the
SD card, you have a
boot.dol.
That's your
homebrew.
To
change homebrews, you just need to
replace this one
boot.dol with
another boot.dol from a
different homebrew.
There you go!

Bonjour !
Note: Vous devez extraire un Wad d'un disque d'un jeu.
sdroot\" vers votre carte SD.

boot.dol.
C'est votre
homebrew.
Pour
changer d'homebrews, il suffit de
remplacer ce
boot.dol par
un autre boot.dol d'un
autre homebrew.
Voilà !
