Thanks to everyone who helped me especially Oops :p
mediarange can work too. If what they say is true they sell verbatim discs branded mediarange.
I wanted to do a burn quality test with nero speed for a while now to compare the quality but I no longer have a use for buying blank dvds so...

I just finished flashing my wii thanks to this tutorial. It's really great that people like you exist! Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site.
Ps: I flashed a black Wii on 4.1E using the homebrew channel and all the rest and everything works perfectly for now (I've been playing Super mario bros for 10 min)

milka59 wrote:Thanks already for all the work put in by whoever made this tutorial!!!
a very simple question is every step mandatory for now I have the homebrew channel installed I'd just like to play games via the hard drive thanks
if your wii already has hbc and is already hacked!...
just install cios 249 rev 14
and go straight to wiiflow.
thanks now that that's done I'd like to know what I should install to block updates and should I install BOOTMII thanks a lot

I'm torn between two options:
- keep my wii on 4.1 and use the 4.1 hack
- upgrade to 4.2 and use the 4.2 hack
What's the best solution and especially the least risky?
above all don't do the update!
stay on 4.1!!!!
if you go to 4.2 you'll have more steps to do!! and even more annoying
version 4.2 doesn't bring anything more than 4.1
except maybe ANTI HACK PROTECTIONS
odbo wrote:Salut Darkscad
Unless I'm mistaken, V4.2 (compared to 4.1) updates the shop channel (it's inaccessible if < 4.2)
Via the shop channel you can install the "internet" channel for free (free browsing on the internet via Opera) which isn't negligible and other channels of lesser interest (horoscope, voting..)
There are installation packages for access to the shop channel even if you're not on 4.2 but that's still a risk of bricking your Wii on top of it if it doesn't work.
That's the reason I moved to V4.2
Running the tutorial on a black WII on 4.2:
I ran the tutorial to the letter and I'm stuck at the trucha bug restoration: after the 1st patch of IOS15 and restart of TBR (Trucha bug restorer) I choose IOS15 as the startup iOS and I get a big CLID crash showing I suppose a memory dump of pointers and memory stacks.
The issue is caused by using TBR v 1.1. there's a version 1.11 fixing this ="https://wiibrew.org/wiki/Trucha_Bug_Restorer#v1.11"]specific bug
Using TBR 1.11 fixes my problem
A few errors noticed at the start of the tutorial:
As I'm useless with Wii and read word for word I noticed a few errors:
small error in the Wad names on 4.2: on v 4.1 the IOS36 to patch is named "IOS36-64-v3094.wad"
The version on 4.2 being 3351, it's "IOS36-64-v3351.wad" that needs to go at the root of the SD card
likewise it's TBR 1.0 that should be used for a 4.1 (it tries to patch IOS36 v 3094) and therefore TBR 1.11 on 4.2 (it tries to patch IOS36 v 3351). the tutorial's images are wrong.
bonjour,

waaa you're even forgetting to mention the IOS stub.... (LOOK INTO IT)
For the shop channel it's possible to add it later without an update... (tutorial on the site or via pimpmywii)
yes that's why in my tutorial it's TBR 1.11 that's provided
patch IOS70
erasing IOS STUB 249 222 223 needs to be done additionally on 4.2
The version on 4.2 being 3351, it's "IOS36-64-v3351.wad" that needs to go at the root of the SD card
after confirmation I'll fix that.
THANKS
the images were taken from other tutorials give them to me and I'll place them gladly!
thanks in advance.
there @+

patch IOS70
effacement IOS STUB 249 222 223 a faire en plus sur la 4.2
