Great tutorial, I tried it on my black 4.1 e wii everything works, games launch via wiiflow, the only snag is that the channels I install like the wiiflow one or neo gamma r7 don't work well, I get a black screen whereas if I launch them from the homebrew channel everything works why?

Magnifique tuto, j'ai essayé sur ma wii noir 4.1 e tout marche, les jeux se lancent via wiiflow, seul hic que j'ai c'est que les chaines que j'installent comme celle de wiiflow ou le neo gamma r7 ne marchent pas au fait, j'ai un ecran noir tandis que si je les lancent depuis la homebrew channel tout fonctionne pourquoi?

Install the channels in .wad with wad manager.
you must create a wad folder (where you'll put the .wad here) at the root.
your memory card must be formatted in fat32.
you launch wadmanager:
" + " to install
" - " to uninstall.

take a forwarder (which launches using the boot.dol contained on your SD.).

you need to take the wiiflow pack in full version!

apps/wiiflow/icon+meta.xlm+boot.dol
wad/Wiiflow StarNight Channel Forwarder-WSNF.wad
wiiflow/themes/cabonik+default
wiiflow/titles.ini+language.ini

you can replace the boot.dol with the more recent openwiiflow one.
no worries.

Installe les chaines en .wad avec wad manager.
tu doit crée un dossier wad (ou tu mettra les .wad ici) a la racine.
ta carte memoire doit etre formaté en fat32.
tu lance wadmanager :
" + " pour installé
" - " pour désinstallé.

prend une forwarder (qui se lance en utilisant le boot.dol contenu dans ta SD.).

il faut que tu prenne le pack wiiflow en version full !

apps/wiiflow/icon+meta.xlm+boot.dol
wad/Wiiflow StarNight Channel Forwarder-WSNF.wad
wiiflow/themes/cabonik+default
wiiflow/titles.ini+language.ini

tu peut remplacer le boot.dol pour celui de openwiiflow plus récent.

With an external usb drive I hope it'll work.

I hope it'll work because I have a black wii and I checked the dvd code it's not a good one.

And my external usb hard drive doesn't get power directly I have to plug it into the mains, will that be a problem?

Normally Wii,
all black wiis (and all new wiis) as far as I know have this new drive.
The problem with an external hard drive (3.5 I assume)
is that you have to disconnect and reconnect it every time..
it's more of a hassle than anything else...
whereas with a 2.5 (laptop hard drive), self-powered on usb port
it turns off directly with the wii and starts back up at the same time, so completely invisible operation.
(if the hard drive is compatible)

yes, you can play divx and mp3 on the wii from an SD card or a USB stick.
with this new drive it seems impossible to launch it from the dvd drive.

Normalement Wii,
toute les wii noire (et toutes les nouvelles wii) a ma connaissance on ce nouveau lecteur.
Le problème avec un disque dur externe (3.5 je suppose)
c'est quil faudra a chaque fois le deconnecter et le reconnecter ..
c'est plus chiant que autre chose...
alors que avec un 2.5 (disque dur de portable), auto-alimenter sur port usb
il s'éteint directement avec la wii et redémarre en même temps, donc fonctionnement invisible.
(si disque dur compatible)

oui, on peut lire des divx et mp3 sur la wii depuis une carte SD ou une Clef USB.
avec ce nouveau lecteur il me semble impossible de le lancer depuis le lecteur dvd.
je vais mettre des liens plus tard.

1: is it possible to play GC games with wiiflow or others

2: whether installing banner bomb carries a risk of bricking because at that point if I understood correctly

What's the brand and model of your hdd? There's a specific way to partition and format it. If you don't know ask

No GC on HDD.

and you don't install bannerbomb, you use it to launch homebrews.

C'est quoi la marque et le modèle de ton hdd? Il y a une façon de le partitionner et de le formater. Si tu ne sais pas demande

Non pas de GC sur HDD.

et on installe pas bannebomb, on l'utilise pour lancer de homebrews.

I haven't partitioned it.
I formatted it with WBFS manager and I copy my iso games into it.

clearly your HDD is compatible with usloader (I recommend Wiiflow 1.1)

However if you want to play divx you need to partition your HDD. you need to make 2 main partitions: the first one in ntfs for divx and another one at the end to reformat in WBFS. But if you've already put games on your HDD, you'll have to start all over again. But either way 1To for wii games is already a lot, with 500Go you should be able to install more or less 200 games. ^^

then you'll need hermes' cIOS 222/223 and specifically cIOS202 for divx and DVD video that you can play with MPlayer CE. Keep in mind that burned DVDs reduce the drive's lifespan. Personally I don't use it at all anymore since I got wiiflow and my HDD with 2 partitions.

visiblement ton HDD est compatible avec l'usloader (je te conseil Wiiflow 1.1)

Par contre si tu veux lire des divx il faut que tu partitionne ton HDD. tu dois faire 2 partition principale : la première en ntfs pour le divx et une autre en dernier pour la reformater en WBFS. Mais si tu as déjà mis des jeux sur ton HDD, il va falloir tout recommencer depuis le début. Mais de toute façon 1To pour des jeux wii c'est beaucoup déjà avec 500Go tu devrais pouvoir installer plus ou moins 200 jeux. ^^

ensuite il te faudra les cIOS d'hermes 222/223 et spécifiquement le cIOS202 pour les divx et le DVD vidéo que tu pourras lire avec MPlayer CE. Reste que les DVD grave réduisent la durée de vie du lecteur. Personnellement je ne l'utilise plus du tout depuis que j'ai wiiflow et mon HDD avec 2 partition.

Esceque je pourrais lire les divx via le lecteur de la wii, vu que celle-ci est dans les lecteur inviolable?

Dis esceque tu peut me dire combien de temps il faut pour flasher la wii si on lit le tuto.

It's really a shame to use a 1To HDD only for wii games especially since the wii's memory for saves is very limited. The time you'll spend transferring everything back isn't worth it but hey it's up to you.

Otherwise yes you can play divx on DVD but I'll say it again reading burned DVDs with the Wii will shorten its lifespan in an unpredictable way.

For games I recommend Wiiflow 1.1 and as a media player MPlayer CE whatever the medium.

And I can't tell you how long a hack takes, it depends on the errors you make or not, on your internet connection, and plenty of other parameters I'm not thinking of But count it in hours.

C'est vraiment dommage d'utiliser un HDD de 1To uniquement pour les jeux wii d'autant que la mémoire de la wii pour les sauvegarde est très limité. Le temps que tu passeras à tout retransfére en faut la chandelle mais bon c'est toi qui voit.

Sinon oui tu peux lire les divx sur DVD mais je te le redis lire des DVD gravé avec la Wii va raccourcir sa durée de vie de façon indéterminable.

Pour les jeux je te conseil Wiiflow 1.1 et pour comme lecteur de media MPlayer CE quelques soit le support.

Et je ne peux pas te dire combien de temps un hack prend de temps, cela dépends des erreurs que tu feras ou pas, de ta connexion internet, et de plein d'autres paramètres auxquels je ne pense pas Mais compte en heures.
