Project Nativ: Killzone and Uncharted native on PC
Project Nativ recompiles PS Vita games into native programs for PC, Mac and Linux: Killzone Mercenary with online play, Uncharted, Unit 13 and Shovel Knight.
Vita games without Vita3K
Project Nativ, by TheLostPantheon (GPL-2.0 licence), does not go through an emulator like Vita3K. Its tools translate a Vita game's ARM code into C once and for all, then compile it into a native program for Windows, macOS or Linux. The Sony libraries the game loads are recompiled along with it from your firmware, and a custom environment replaces the console's kernel and hardware. The first releases came out on 30 October, and public beta 0.1.5 on 2 November.
Four games to start with
What you need
The project provides no game code, data or firmware: you need your own Vita games, dumped from your console, and the firmware update file published by Sony, which the tools decrypt on your machine. The Windows version ships with its own Python and build tools; on Mac and Linux, the launcher is built from source. After Killzone HD on PC, this is another entry in the series leaving its original console.
