UMD Player: PSP UMD movies running natively on Vita
UMD Player plays the movies, TV series and concerts sold on UMD for the PSP on a PS Vita, without Adrenaline, disc menus included. It also runs on PC.
UMD Video without a PSP emulator
For the PSP, Sony sold movies, TV series and concerts on UMD Video. UMD Player, by xesf (MIT licence), plays them natively on PS Vita, from an.iso,.cso or.zso disc image: no Adrenaline, no PSP firmware. H.264 video goes through the Vita's hardware decoder, and ATRAC3plus audio is decoded in software.
What it can do
Three releases in four days
The project was born on 14 October. Versions 0.9.2 (27 October), 0.9.3 (28 October) and 0.9.4 (30 October) work on smoothness: fewer late frames while the time bar is on screen, and a steady 29.97 frames per second for movies coded in fields, such as Lara Croft Tomb Raider. Version 0.9.4 adds old-TV style scanlines, off by default, and fixes the menus of several discs.

What it can do
- The disc menus, as on PSP, with their animations and their language, subtitle and chapter choices, and even interactive movies (UMD-PG).
- A PSP-style library: each disc's background, animated icon and music, and the resume point of each one.
- Audio track and subtitle switching during the movie, four screen modes, fast forward, and a touch time bar.
