Resident Evil Code Veronica X running natively on PS Vita

Resident Evil Code Veronica X runs natively on PS Vita, at 960×544 with widescreen and a first-person view, thanks to Rinnegatamante.

A port born from a decompilation

On October 28, 2026, Rinnegatamante, one of the most prolific developers on the Vita scene, released version 1.0 of recvx_vita. The port builds on the decompilation of the game's PS2 version, carried out over years by the AshfordFamily team, and on an early adaptation by shoui that got it booting on the Vita. The game was tested from start to finish, several times, by Matichu.

What it brings
  • A resolution of 960×544, the Vita's screen resolution, with MSAA anti-aliasing up to 4x;
  • l’widescreen, on by default;
  • optional modern controls, and a first-person view mode with dual analog sticks;
  • a built-in cheat menu, motion blur that can be turned off, and skippable door and stair animations;
  • the game in French, Spanish or German.
An options menu opens by touching the top-left corner of the screen.

Installation
  • Install libshacccg.suprx if you have not already, then the VPK from the project page.
  • On PC, with Python 3.10 and ffmpeg, a script prepares the files from your own NTSC-U ISO of the PS2 game.
  • Copy the result to ux0:data/recvx, along with the contents of data.zip.
No game files are provided. After Half-Life 2, the Vita welcomes another classic from the PS2 era.
