PS5 jailbreak on 14.10: Gezine shows an exploit that stays private

By Tgames · · 2 min read

Developer Gezine has shown a PS5 on firmware 14.10 with a new kernel exploit. Nothing is released, and the hypervisor still blocks most of it.

"Hello 14.10"

On the 19 October 2026 in the evening, Gezine, the author of Y2JB (code execution through the PS5's YouTube app), posted a 15-second video on X with just this text: "Hello 14.10". It opens on the information screen of a console showing system software 26.06-14.10.00.03, Sony's latest firmware. According to the sites that analysed it, the rest shows the hidden menu Debug Settings, reserved for development consoles, which implies kernel access. The post passed 2.8 million views in a single day.

What Gezine clarified

In two replies posted overnight, Gezine adds:
  • that the kernel exploit used on 13.xx firmwares was patched in 14.00; the 14.10 one is therefore a different exploit, and it is not Relapse. Gezine mentions a disclosure "later";
  • that the old method for extracting executables no longer seems to work on 14.xx, and that ahypervisor exploit may really be needed.

What this changes today

Nothing, for now: there is no file, no code and no date, and nobody has been able to reproduce the demonstration. The only public jailbreak is still Relapse, from 7.00 to 13.60, and Byepervisor Reborn also stops at 13.60. According to developer Sonic_Iso, 14.10 closed the hypervisor exploit used so far. Even if released, a kernel exploit on its own would therefore offer less than a jailbreak on 13.60.
The anticipation comes from GTA 6, expected on 19 November: it would require 14.10, as we explained in our GTA 6 news. And PSN is already refused to consoles still on 14.00.

Our advice

If your PS5 is on 13.60 or lower, do not update it on the strength of this video: there is no telling when, or even whether, this exploit will be released. If it is already on 14.10, there is no point looking for a "14.10 jailbreak" to download: any file presented as such today is fake. To check where your firmware stands, see our PS5 jailbreak guide.
