Pokémon: Let’s Go recompiled for PC: native and in 4K, no emulator

2026 update: another native port with no emulator: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom runs on Mac, iPhone and iPad; the full story is in our news story Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom runs natively on Mac, iPhone and iPad.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pikachu run natively on Windows thanks to a static recompilation: up to 4K, with SMAA, from your own copy of the game.

Not an emulator

The project letsgo-recomp, released on 16 October 2026 and already at version 0.4.2 on the 19th, does not run the Switch game in an emulator: its ARM64 code is translated into C, then compiled into a Windows program. A runtime replaces the Switch’s system, with its NVN graphics API reimplemented on top of Vulkan. It is the same method as suyu and its recompilation of Switch games, and the Xbox 360 ports such as Forza Horizon. The project builds on a recompilation of Zelda Link’s Awakening, adapted to another game.

What works
  • Eevee (the most tested) and Pikachu, since version 0.2.1.
  • The opening cutscene, exploration, catching, trainer battles, menus, the Pokédex, the Play with your partner mode and saves.
  • The game’s own 30 fps, locked and stable, or an experimental 60 fps mode while exploring.
  • An internal resolution of up to 4K, SMAA anti-aliasing (absent from the original game) and 16x anisotropic filtering.
  • Keyboard, mouse or any controller, and fan translations that install in one click.
The game has not yet been finished on this port: the Gyms and the Pokémon League have not been tested. There is no online play, no co-op and no gyroscope.

What you need
  • Your own copy of the game, dumped (exefs and romfs folders), version 1.0.0. The repository provides neither the game nor its keys.
  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a CPU with AVX2, FMA and BMI2 (Intel Haswell, AMD Zen or newer), a graphics card with Vulkan 1.3.
  • Up to 5.2 GB of memory during preparation, about 3.8 GB in game, and 6 GB of disk space.
A project involving Pokémon may draw the attention of Nintendo and The Pokémon Company: there is no telling how long it will stay online.
