Venture: Meta Quest games on PC VR headsets
Venture runs the Meta Quest games you own on a PC, under Windows and Linux, with a PC VR headset. Its authors report 25 games working out of 25.
Quest games on a PC headset
Venture, by Villagers654 (GPL-3.0 licence), is a Meta Quest emulator for PC virtual reality. Quest games are Android apps for ARM processors: Venture runs them as ordinary PC programs, with no virtual machine, thanks to a just-in-time ARM recompiler built on the Eden project's version of Dynarmic. The picture is rendered by the PC's graphics card and sent to the headset through OpenXR.
How it works
25 games tested
The project's compatibility table lists 25 working games out of 25, on Windows as well as Linux, including Batman: Arkham Shadow, Asgard’s Wrath 2, Resident Evil 4, Marvel’s Deadpool VR and the three episodes of Vader Immortal. A test checks that the game displays without major glitches, not that it can be finished. These results and the speed comparisons come from the authors: no independent test has been published yet.
Six releases in a day
Version 0.1.0 came out on 28 October, and 0.1.1.1, the sixth release, 25 hours later. Version 0.1.1 lets you add a game by its store link when Meta does not list your library, and import your saves from a Quest.
Venture provides no games and is not affiliated with Meta: only use it with your own games. Since it asks for your Meta credentials, only download it from its official repository.

How it works
- Windows 10 or 11, and Linux (.deb and.rpm packages, AppImage, Flatpak).
- You sign in to your Meta account to get your library, install a game, then start your headset's runtime before pressing Play. Ownership is checked game by game.
- An Import page can also add games from a Quest connected in developer mode, without changing anything on it, or from an APK.
- Installed games can show up in Steam and SteamVR.
