2026 update: PSBox is now at 1.3, with keyboard, mouse and gyro aiming; read on in our news story PSBox 1.3: keyboard, mouse and gyro aiming for Xbox cloud gaming.

PSBox Cloud Gaming brings Xbox Cloud Gaming to jailbroken PS5 consoles: Game Pass games at 1080p and 60 fps, DualSense and voice chat, without a browser.

Game Pass on a PS5

PSBox Cloud Gaming, by RafaelNGP, is a native client for Microsoft’s game streaming service on jailbroken PS5: no hacked-together browser, but a real app. The project is moving very fast: more than ten versions came out between 8 and 10 October 2026, up to 0.9.5.

What it can do
  • The Game Pass, “Your games” and free games tabs, with search.
  • “My consoles”: remote play on your own Xbox, with its games and apps.
  • A stream at 1080p and 60 frames per second, upscaled to 4K by the PS5’s GPU, with AMD FSR 1 or Anime4K, and smoothing of compression artefacts.
  • The DualSense behaves like an Xbox controller, with rumble, trigger rumble and a light bar matching the game’s colours. Up to four controllers.
  • Automatic reconnection after a brief drop, six languages, and the PS5 keyboard for text fields.

New in 0.9.5: voice chat

The DualSense microphone, or a plugged-in headset, is used for voice chat. Voice is compressed in Opus at 24 kb/s. The controller’s “mute” button and its orange light are synced with the app, and rumble is reduced while you talk, so as not to interfere with the audio.

What you need
  • A jailbroken PS5 that runs apps installed as folders, for example with ShadowMountPlus. With Relapse, that means a firmware between 7.00 and 13.60.
  • A Microsoft account with Game Pass Ultimate for most of the catalogue.
  • Installation: copy the PPSA99810 folder to /data/homebrew/ via FTP, then sign in with a code on microsoft.com/link from a phone. No password is entered on the console.

Good to know

The project is open source (GPL-3.0) and is affiliated with neither Microsoft nor Sony. Games are streamed from Microsoft’s servers; nothing is downloaded to the console. Microsoft may change or block its service at any time. The file account.json contains your login session: never share it.
