PC games on jailbroken PS5: Proton and “Mihawk OS” shown in demos

Windows games on a jailbroken PS5: Mihawk has shown Stardew Valley launched with Proton, without Linux. But nothing is available to download yet.


What was shown

On 3 October 2026, Mihawk (@Mihawk9_9 on X) posted a video of Stardew Valley reaching the menu, in 4K, on a jailbroken PS5. The project is called “PS5 Proton”, or “PP”:

• Wine, the layer that runs Windows programs, has been ported to the PS5; this port is credited to 0xManuel.
• DirectX calls are translated to Vulkan, then go through the driver RADV ported by Mihawk. The GPU shows up there as a “RADV NAVI21”.
• The system creates a virtual “C: drive” (a Wine prefix), without installing Linux on the console.

On 11 October, sites reported an interface called “ Mihawk OS ”, styled like Windows 11, and the goal of running 32- and 64-bit games. The same day, another project, ReSkate PS5, also launched a Windows game with Wine and vkd3d-proton, at around 30 fps, but at the cost of a three-and-a-half-minute load.


The takeaway

• There is nothing to download: no public release, no compatibility list, no release date.
• Stardew Valley is an undemanding 2D game: getting it running says nothing about recent 3D games. According to the team, work is still ongoing on the graphics driver, memory and frame pacing.
• A release, when it comes, will require a PS5 jailbroken with Relapse, meaning firmwares 7.00 to 13.60. Do not update your console if you plan to take advantage of it.
