Jailbroken PS5 banned from PSN? What we know about error WS-116332-6

By Tgames · · 2 min read

A jailbroken PS5 was reportedly banned from PSN with error WS-116332-6 after connecting to the Internet: an isolated, unconfirmed case, but a reminder to be careful.

What was reported

In early October, a member of a Turkish Facebook group dedicated to PlayStation explained that his jailbroken PS5 had lost access to the PlayStation Network after being connected to the Internet with his account. His screenshot shows the error WS-116332-6, which indicates access has been “temporarily or permanently suspended”. He later deleted his post. The story was picked up on 8 October 2026 by several sites (iXBT Games, TwistedVoxel).

What we do not know
  • It is a single case, whose source has disappeared. Nothing proves that the jailbreak is the cause.
  • We do not know whether the console, the account or both are blocked, nor for how long.
  • We know neither the console's firmware nor the exploit and tools used.
  • Sony has announced nothing, and no wave of bans has been reported.
Error WS-116332-6 is not proof in itself, either: Sony's help page links it to a violation of the terms of service, but the same code can also appear during a temporary server problem.

How to limit the risk

With Relapse, the PS5 can now be jailbroken from firmware 7.00 to 13.60, and many consoles have been since late September. The safety rules have not changed:
  • Do not connect a jailbroken PS5 to PSN. If you want to play online, keep a stock console or reboot without the jailbreak.
  • Block updates: firmware 14.00 and later close the door on the jailbreak.
  • Avoid apps that modify trophies, saves shared online or games while the console is connected.
All the details, firmware by firmware, are in our tutorial PS5 jailbreak: which firmware, what really works.
