PS5: the scene is getting active around firmware 13.60
Six years after the PS5's release, the scene seems to be getting closer to a more complete hack. Several announcements came in September 2026, to be taken with the usual precautions until something is published.

Our advice
If your PS5 is still on an old firmware, don't update it: each version installed can close a door. And be wary of videos or sites that promise an "immediate jailbreak" for all versions: no such tool exists at the time we write this.

What was announced
- A researcher announced finding two vulnerabilities of the type use-after-free which would allow reaching the firmware 13.60; publication was announced but has not yet occurred.
- The Slopkit project is moving in the same direction, but a complete hack still requires verification on real consoles and other components (etaHEN, kstuff).
- EchoStretch published a beta of Kstuff Lite 1.11, announced as compatible with firmwares 1.00 to 13.60.
