[TUTORIAL] Access the shop channel without being in 4.2

Here's a little tutorial explaining how to access the shop channel even if you're not on 4.2.

IMPORTANT: Neither me nor the Tgames forum can be held responsible for any problems resulting from using this tutorial. So know that you're using it at your own risk.

IMPORTANT: Remove all peripherals from your Wii during installation, meaning: Controller, DVD, memory card, USB peripherals etc... (No need to remove the SD card).

PS: You'll still be able to use backups at the end of this tutorial.

UPDATE: Following a new Nintendo protection (IOS Stub), we had to completely redo the tutorial.

Required hardware:

- A Wii on a version lower than 4.2.
- An internet connection on your Wii.
- CIOS 38 Rev14 or lower already installed
- An SD card.
- The homebrew channel. (See HERE to install it)
- A way to read your SD card via your computer.
- The pack to download.

I) Preparing the SD card

- Put your SD card in your computer.
- Copy/paste the folder: "WAD-Manager_v1.5" into the "apps" folder of your SD card.
- Copy/paste the files "IOS50-64-v4889.wad", "IOS51-64-v4633.wad", "IOS60-64-v6174.wad", "IOS61-64-v4890.wad", "IOS70-64-v6687.wad" and "WiiShopChannel-v18.wad" into the "WAD" folder of your SD card.



III) Installing the new IOS and Shop Channel V18

- Put your SD card into your Wii.

- Turn on your Wii then go to the homebrew channel.

- Launch "Wad Manager".
- Choose IOS 249 as the install IOS
- Then "Disable"
- Then "Wii DS Slot"
- Now install all the files offered
- Exit and you'll see that you have access to the shop channel again!

Voici un petit tutoriel vous expliquant comment accéder à la chaîne boutique même si vous n'êtes pas en 4.2.

IMPORTANT : Ni moi ni le forum Tgames ne pourront être tenus responsables des problèmes résultant de l'utilisation de ce tutoriel. Sachez donc que vous l'utilisez à vos risques et périls.

IMPORTANT : Enlevez tout les périphériques sur votre Wii pendant l'installation, c'est à dire : Manette, DVD, Carte mémoire , périphériques USB etc ... (Pas besoin d'enlever la carte SD).

PS : Vous pourrez toujours utiliser les backups à la fin de ce tutoriel.

Matériels requis :

- Une Wii en version inférieure à la 4.2.
- Une connexion internet sur votre Wii.
- Le CIOS 38 Rev14 ou inférieur de déjà installé
- Une carte SD.
- La chaîne homebrew. (Voir ICI pour l'installer)
- Un moyen de lire votre carte SD via votre ordinateur.
- Le pack à télécharger.

- Copiez/collez les dossiers : "WAD-Manager_v1.5" dans le dossier "apps" de votre carte SD.
- Copiez/collez les fichiers "IOS50-64-v4889.wad", "IOS51-64-v4633.wad", "IOS60-64-v6174.wad", "IOS61-64-v4890.wad", "IOS70-64-v6687.wad" et "WiiShopChannel-v18.wad" dans le dossier "WAD" de votre carte SD.



III) Installation des nouveaux IOS et de la Chaîne Boutique V18

- Mettez votre carte SD dans votre Wii.


- Allumez votre Wii puis allez dans la chaîne homebrew.


- Lancez "Wad Manager".
- Choisssez l'IOS 249 comme IOS d'installation
- Puis "Disable"
- Puis "Wii DS Slot"
- Installez maintenant tout les fichiers proposés
- Quittez et vous pouvez constater que vous avez ré accès à la chaîne boutique !

hi everyone I read that some people got bricked for my part I have the latest version of the shop channel having installed ios61 V5405 and then the shop channel v18 and I have no problem at all and it works very well

I tried it: installing the wads went perfectly, but after restart no change for my wii channel (still asks me to accept the contract...). I also got a little message "...corrupted system".

=> do I need to activate wiiconnect24, in addition to an internet connection?
=> can I uninstall these same wads (from the _RTU pack) that I installed or not?

J'ai essayé: l'istall des wads s'est déroulée nickel, mais a prés redémarrage pas de changement pour ma chaine wii (me dit tjrs d'accepter le contrat... ). J'ai aussi eu un ptit message "...systeme corrompu".

=> faut-il activer wiiconnect24, en plus d'une connection internet?
=> je peux désinstaller ces mêmes wads (du pack _RTU) que j'ai installé ou pas?

you can also use pimp my wii 1.32, "test and fix problems".

tu peux aussi utiliser pimp my wii 1.32, "tester et corriger les problèmes".
