[RESOLVED] USB problem with wiiXplorer and SaveGame Manager gx

Hello everyone.

well it's been a while since I last came here I must say!
gotta say I left the wii scene a while ago lol I think the last time I was active on wii underground was back when nand emulation had just started... well I think

anyway, anyway ..

Since I have fond memories of often finding answers to my questions on this forum I'm laying out my problem today...

you see since my SD reader is dead I exclusively use a USB key for homebrews and so up until now no problem except... when I use the 2 homebrews wiixplorer and savegame manager gx (usb compatible right?) my USB key isn't detected... even though I manage to launch these in the homebrew channel on a USB key

so here's my issue is there a Cios I need to install? you should know I already ran my wii through "pimp my wii" so I don't really know what I need to install...

if it helps here's some information about my console: 3.2E - And the latest waninkoko Cios presumably since I ran Pimp my wii.. but I don't remember the names anymore lol

1/ Which version of Pimp my wii?

2/ Which version of savegame manager and wiixplorer?
homebrew-wii/wiixplorer-r220-t5161.html ... wiixplorer
news-wii/savegame-manager-gx-r119-t5463 ... t=savegame

These two pieces of software use either cios 202 or 58

If you can do a syscheck of your wii and post it here

so pimp my wii is indeed the version you mentioned to me

savegame manager is version r119

and wiixplorer r212

I'll try the r220 of wiixplorer

and for the syscheck I'll do one and keep you posted.

Well already wiixplorer gives nothing..

For the homebrew channel it says: 1.0.8 ios58 v24.32

then for the syscheck (knowing that I used version 2.1.0 b13 downloaded on wii with the homebrew browser): it tells me:

"error! do you want to display the report anyway?" except that "good news" the wiimote disconnects and can't be reconnected lol...

I'll try the syscheck from the link you sent me to see...

otherwise with the syscheck it does the same thing impossible to get a report...

would you have any idea where the problem comes from please?

edit: Well already for wiiXplorer I took a lower version (r170) and apparently the USB is detected...

but for savegame manager GX I'm still looking...

Yes an update to 4.3 and then you follow mamule's hack 4.3 tutorial!

Don't forget to install priiloader!

Oh no not the 4.3....

isn't there a way to do it while staying on 3.2E... I really have no interest in the SD menu...

besides I said nothing.... Wiixplorer it's still the same even if it "detects" the USB it doesn't even show the files in it lol

Well I'm used to it and also I have a theme on my wii menu... well I know I could always reinstall it but that's going to take me time for not much...

Is there really no way to stay on 3.2? I was thinking about reinstalling the homebrew channel?

By the way and can the upgrade to 4.3 be done without an SD card? (my SD reader is dead I'll remind you again)

I have a small issue.

when I launch the Cios hermes and do the tutorial's installation steps I get red sentences... yet I have internet on my wii is it possible it's because I'm launching this installation via a usb key? well actually not really since I'm launching with wiiload...

EDIT: I launched it with the USB key normally. and so the hermes cios writes at the end in red: "hash bad"

any idea? gotta say there's a bunch of stuff installed on my wii lol there must be conflicts (old preloader, bootmii in boot2 but useless since my SD reader is broken...etc)

EDIT2: lol sorry I must be annoying you... actually while searching online I saw that someone has the same issue as me the "hash Bad", apparently the solution is to install ios 249 based on ios 38... but which installer should I launch to do that...?

Well I know I installed everything... but still the same

Savegame Manager GX tells me "no storage device Found" even though my USB key is properly connected...

any idea?

EDIT: how embarrasssssing I discovered what wasn't working... it wasn't on the right USB port... I'm sorry... anyway I thank you a lot for your help it works perfectly now!
