I'm making this tutorial based on my personal experience: when I wanted to get certain software to work on PC like X Link Kai or RemoteJoy Lite, I had to first install the PSP Type B drivers (or drivers for those who know English) to make them work, except it was kind of a mess. Depending on whether you were on Vista, Seven, 32 or 64 bits, you had to take one driver or another, do different manipulations, in short we couldn't figure it out anymore But anyway, let's skip over the thrilling story of my life and get to the point After a first attempt at a tutorial, a realization halfway through the tutorial that what I was doing didn't work and after much research, I finally found a simple and effective way to install these [strike]damned[/strike] drivers (yes, this search and my numerous attempts tired and annoyed me a bit but you'll forgive me right? ). In this case, here we go
I - Prerequisites and preliminary information
Since we are only going to install a driver, we will only need a computer and your brain (even though I will try to make it easy for you ).
With the old solutions, as I explained above, you had to do more or less certain complicated manipulations depending on our operating system and our system type but not anymore. What I'm going to propose to you now is a unique solution that works for normally all computers (XP, Vista, Seven, 32 or 64 bits), I tested it myself on a Windows Seven 64b and a Vista 32b and it works perfectly in both cases
Now that you have the necessary equipment, let's go
PS: This file is a .zip archive, so to open it you will need decompression software like IZarc, WinRar, 7zip, etcNow that the download is finished, let's start the installation:
Open the archive you just downloaded and extract the "Drivers PSP type B" folder somewhere on your computer (for example in a folder on your desktop)
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Now, click on Start (the button with the icon in the bottom left of your screen) then in the search bar type hdwwiz. A program should appear, click on it
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
A new window opens, click on "Next"
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Then, select "Install the hardware I manually select from the list (advanced user)"
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Click on "Show all devices" if it's not already selected by default then click Next
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
On the new page that appears, click on "Supplied Disk..."
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
A new window appears, click on "Browse"
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
A new window appears again, now from this window, look for the "Drivers PSP Type B" folder, open it then select the "psp" file which should be the only file to appear in your folder. Then click on Open
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The absolute path of your "Drivers PSP Type B" folder (which is highlighted in blue on the screenshot) should appear in the line next to "Browse". After that, click Ok
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The line "PSP Type B" appears on our original window, select it and click Next
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The next window explains that you are about to install the "PSP Type B" driver, Click Next
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
The installation launches, it's possible that a window opens telling you that your driver is not digitally signed. In that case click on "Install this driver anyway"
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Wait for the installation to finish. When it's done, a final window normally tells you that the installation completed successfully. Finally click on "Finish"
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
There, the installation is finally finished! Your PSP Type B drivers (or drivers) are now installed on your computer. If you want to verify it, I propose you go to the Device Manager of your computer accessible in Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Audio (after that, the path changes depending on whether you're on XP, Vista or Seven but it should be written somewhere ) and you will then be able to see this:
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
There, the tutorial is now finished. If you have criticisms / remarks / additional information to give me, don't hesitate, I'm interested Since the manipulation explained in this tutorial is my own (I was inspired by several tutorials explaining how to install them the old way without doing a copy/paste of one in particular), I'll just give you the link of the Drivers PSP Type B folder you downloaded: >here<. There are also two screenshots that are not mine (the one with the warning message that the driver is not digitally signed which didn't appear and the very last one because I was too lazy to make a red frame :3) but since I took them from Google Images, I don't think giving https://www.google.fr/ as source is useful See you soon
). Dans ce cas, c'est parti
I - Prérequis et informations préalables
I plugged the PSP's cable into my computer, nothing happens, and yet the computer does recognize the cable I plugged into it, but beforehand I had installed an Action Replay and the cable I use was supplied with the action replay.
Thanks if anyone can help me
Bonjour
Hello your tutorial is excellent and very clear, only problem Remote Joy lite always shows me waiting, it showed me disp off once after I followed your instructions but since then it's gone back to waiting, I'm on 7 x64, I have Light Custom Firmware 6.60 ME on my psp 3004 and all the remote joy lite plugins are activated, would you have an idea?
Thanks
PS: I'm new to this field it would be nice to be as clear as your tutorial
Ok I'm editing my message following on from the other one (I'm new I don't know how you're all used to doing things) I managed to succeed thanks to another topic that links back to yours
