[TUTORIAL] Unbrick Wii with bootmii in boot2

Hi there troupinette,
I'm trying to unbrick my nephew's wii which had no bootmii on it at all... So I'm using the tutorial Unbrick Wii with bootmii as boot2, without a nand backup, but I'm stuck when it comes to using wadunpacker.... I can't manage to get into the wadunpacker folder that's on my C drive.... I managed to recover BOOt2-64-v2 from the game Tom Raider which I had previously dumped onto my wii's hard drive... But since I can't manage to extract the wadunpacker file, I'm stuck...;I did use Attila's tutorial to use Wadunpacker but nothing worked...;What should I do.

Hello,

Uhh before doing a bunch of stupid stuff and sinking my wii even deeper into the mud I'm going to ask two or three questions:

- Am I going to lose everything that was on the wii after all these manipulations
- I don't remember the wii's version anymore, can I find out with bootmii or otherwise I'll take the opportunity to change version

it's hard to answer you because I don't understand the point (purpose) of your questions.

did you brick it? if so how?

if not, what exactly do you want to do?

It's true I wasn't very clear in my explanations. Let me rewind back to the very beginning. I bought a used wii that was on 3.2E I think. I installed bootmii + priiloader + USB loader GX with Waninkoko and Hermes' cIOS. Recently two or three games started acting up on startup (black screen). In my haste I disconnected the external USB that has the usb loader on it while the wii was on and I think priiloader took a hit. The wii only boots to bootmii now. Basically my question:
Will I manage to get out of this and with what consequences if I use the technique from this post with the homebrew Pimp my Wii?

Hello,

I dug a bit deeper. Bootmii tells me the system menu version is unknown. I tried the cBoot2 technique with the packs from this post propositions-tutoriels-wii/encore-une-m ... ot2#p25731 but unfortunately on launch I get an error:
cBoot2 DOL loader v16
IOS Version 2 v16 0x00020010
Failed to load IOS

So I'm a bit stuck.....

olizit,

strange story this... Anyway, if you have bootmii nothing is lost.
Via bootmii you can launch hbc, from there, launch pimp my wii 2.11: "test and fix problems". You'll go to 4.1 with a wii up to date on ios

Reinstall priiloader, making sure not to forget to change the hacks.ini file to the one for version 4.1.

I suggest you test wiiflow instead of GX

And in the future avoid disconnecting a usb randomly even on a pc ^^

I have a small problem when I launch cboot2 at the end it gives me an error sdi code patch failed (rv=-39)
