You may find yourself with several formats of Wii game backup files such as
ISO, CISO, WBI, (compress)ISO or a
WBFS that you want to put back into ISO .. and there it's a headache!!
Summary of the different possible conversions:
ISO ==>
WBFS see method 1
CISO ==>
WBFS see method 2
WBI ==>
WBFS see method 3
(compress)ISO ==>
WBFS see method 4
WBFS ==>
ISO see method 5
1.
ISO: Use the software
WBFS Auto 0.9b
The best is to have a folder containing only your ISO or (compress)ISO
and the 3 files
config.ini, wbfs_file_AUTO.exe and wbfs_file.exe.
You can modify the following lines in the file
config.ini if you want to keep
your ISO after conversion:
[DELETE_AFTER_CONVERTION]
DELETE_ISO = NO
otherwise leave it at
YES.
Double-click on
wbfs_file_AUTO.exe , the conversion starts.
When done, you will find additional files in this same folder:
wbfs_AUTO.log which summarizes the operation
'GameID_nomdufichierISO.txt'
'GameID.wbfs'
* see note at bottom of page
2 .
CISO: Use the software
WiiBackupManager0.3.2
The CISO format is a compressed ISO format.
Launch the software.
Do ADD + FILES
Select your ciso file
You will see it appear in the software window, as well as its GameID
Check the box (there is only one)
Do TRANSFER
Choose WBFS_File..
The conversion starts. You will find your files in a subfolder
'GameID_nomdufichier'.
* see note at bottom of page
3.
WBI: This format is identical to the CISO format, you just have to change the extension.
Rename
'fichier.wbi' in
'fichier.ciso'
The reverse obviously works too, but it has no interest here.
Once renamed, use method 2, above, to get your wbfs file.
* see note at bottom of page
4.
(compress)ISO: You can directly use method 1.
* see note at bottom of page
5 .
WBFS: Use the software
WiiBackupManager0.3.2
Launch the software.
Do ADD + FILES
Select your wbfs file
You will see it appear in the software window, as well as its GameID
Check the box (there is only one)
Do TRANSFER
Choose ISO..
The conversion starts. You will find your file in the same folder
in the form
'gamename.iso'
NOTE:
In the first 4 cases, if it happens that you find a wbfs file without extension,
you just have to rename it in the form:
'GameID.wbfs'
You just have to copy this file to your hard drive.
If like me you use an NTFS disk or partition, copy it to the
wbfs folder which must be at the root of the disk or partition.
For info, as you can see in my signature, I use an HDD in NTFS and USB loader GX rev 875.
Everything works perfectly.
I hope this mini tutorial will help you and save you migraines
P.S.: I just put the direct links of the 2 softwares used.
P.S2: You can obviously use method 2, to convert the formats
CISO, WBFS, WBI and WBFS
in
ISO that you can then burn to DVD-R with
ImgBurn FR 2.3.2.0 (4X max) if you use
Backup Launcher, for example.
P.S3: If you have a WBFS partition, you can, with the different methods of this TUTORIAL, find an ISO and use
WBFS Manager (for example) to transfer it to your WBFS partition (the ISO will be converted on the fly).

[DELETE_AFTER_CONVERTION]
DELETE_ISO = NO
sinon laissez le a
YES.
Faites ADD + FILES
Selectionnez votre fichier ciso
4.
(compress)ISO : Vous pouvez directement utiliser la méthode 1.
* voir la note en bas de page
5 .
WBFS : Utilisez le soft
WiiBackupManager0.3.2
Lancez le soft.
Faites ADD + FILES
Selectionnez votre fichier wbfs
'nomdujeu.iso'
