NeoGamma R8 Final
Image unavailable (removed by its host)
Wiipower blesses us with an update to his Backup Loader derived from Gamma Backup Loader and GeckoOS.
As a reminder, NeoGamma is a homebrew that lets you launch your backups from several types of media: DVD, USB and SD (WBFS). Known problem:
- incompatible with some cIOS REVs (12, 15 and 16)
- Games with an IOS patched for error 002 still give error 002 if there is a second dol (we need a better patch for discs)
- The "rebooter" option only works with a few cIOS revisions (14 for example) and only for some people.
-.wip files are accepted in the NeoGamma folder.
- The gameconfig.txt file, which is a required for Brawl+ and nothing else, is expected in the NeoGamma folder or the root of the sd card.
What's new
R8 RC5
- fix for a code dump (thanks to longtom1)
R8 RC4
- Compatible with cIOS rev18 and above
- Changed the Region Free option in the rebooter (taken from preloader)
- Added a pause/start option for the debugger
- Changes to the code for accessing storage media, this should allow using IOS36 or IOS61 for all storage media access (except for the config)
- Added launching alternative.dols from a disc+ (reads the.wdm file from the storage media to show a few options and allow configuration, e.g.: selecting the episode of Sam & Max)
- Support for the B button in menus
R8 RC3s
- Support for the new EHCI Module (/dev/usb2/)
- Update (thanks to the help of waninkoko.. )
R8 RC3 (translation in progress)
- Added an option that had been forgotten in the config file
- added the ability to turn preloader support for rebooter off
- Modified a few outputs (output!!???).
R8 RC2 (translation in progress)
- Modified the code of the "Force cIOS" option. If that doesn't work, there's nothing I can do about it.
- Modified a few outputs. Let me know if it's good or not.
- Added the GameCube option:
- MIOS is the old behaviour, internal is booting WiiGator's GC Backup Launcher(it's included in the NeoGamma.dol, which is why it's bigger now), external boots NeoGamma/GC.dol as GC homebrew if a GC disc is booted.
TODO:
Boutique vigueur cIOS et Gamecube Mode options Store force cIOS and Gamecube Mode options.
PS: The included GC launcher will only work if NeoGamma is started normally
R8 RC1
- removed the bug that occurred when exiting NeoGamma after launching it via a forwarder channel.
- still incompatible with certain cIOS revisions (12,15,16)
- Games with an IOS patched for error 002 still give error 002 if there is a second dol (we need a better patch for discs)
- "rebooter" (not understood
R8 beta 17
- Added the.wip for the Japanese version of New Super Mario Bros.
- Re-enabled the error 001 corrector via alternative dol for cIOS revisions below rev14

- Warning before memory card in slot 2 is accessed as usb gecko
- Auto Force Language option added, it forces english for games with region 'E'(NTSC-U) and japanese for games with region 'J'

Spoiler
Ocarina codes: "NeoGamma/codes" or "codes"
gameconfig.txt: "NeoGamma/gameconfig.txt" or "gameconfig.txt" or "codes/gameconfig.txt"
Alternative.dol: "NeoGamma"
Patches: "NeoGamma"
Config file: (SD only) "NeoGamma/NeoGamma.cfg"
Testing procedure in case of a problem with a game:
cIOS249 is essential. rev17 is recommended. If and when you change the cIOS249 revision, it's better to use IOS36 (patched with TBR) rather than cIOS249 for the installation, in order to avoid a known bug (freeze during the game, HDD no longer recognized, intermittent black screen, etc...)
If you have a problem with a game, try these options:
- Hooktype: none
- Ocarina: no
- Alternative.dol: no
- Boot language: Console Default (2nd test for import games, with one of the languages supposedly present in the game)
- Force Video: Disc
- Patch Video: no
- VIDTV Patch: no
- Patch Country Strings: no (3rd test for import games: yes)
If the game still doesn't work after that, it means the game isn't compatible, the game reloads an IOS, the cIOS isn't compatible, you have a media issue (bad burn and/or ISO), or finally that there's a new, unknown problem.
If the screen freezes on a colored screen (green, pink, etc...) with the video mode set to "Disc", try different combinations of "Force Video", "Patch Video" and "VIDTV". Note that this solution can fix the problem on a lot of games.
