thanks for this forum which is great. but a small question, either I did my steps wrong or I forgot something, I can't manage to read burned games. my Wii is on 4.2 preloader 0.30. thanks for your help and especially happy new year 2010.

hi again,

I followed the tutorial closely, the hack went well...

but (there's always a but): I had a first issue when I tried to launch a game from the HDD, a nice black screen with a little green line at the top and the Wii freezing..

I browsed the forums and tried to fix it (I don't know what) with PimpMyWii 1.32... apparently it fixed a few small things.

The issue is still there!!!!
I should mention I'm using USB loader GX rev 875, and my HDD is in NTFS (so I did properly convert my isos to .wbfs and put them in a wbfs folder at the root of my partition), the loader does see the games fine, it did load the covers fine.

I still have access to Preloader 0.29 and the HBC.... everything seems to be running fine, but if I try to launch a GAME ===> black screen

does anyone have an idea?

I'm considering reformatting my partition to WBFS and switching to wiiflow, but I'd like to understand where the issue is

I'm going to try because after my jaikundo 4.2 update I find myself unable to reinstall the hbc

I use USBLoaderGx v 814, so limited to WBFS partitions. it works without problem. I had tried with V877 in NTFS and it didn't work at all.
Visually Wiiflow is very very close to UsbLoaderGx (I'll skip the "cover wall" mode which looks nice but is unusable). After that it's a matter of taste

If it's a recent Wii that's normal: burned games can only be read from a hard drive (via UsbLoaderGx or WiiFlow). It seems to be a physical block on the Dvd drive
so the Backup loader doesn't work (reading a burned Dvd) and NeoGamma (new!) is only just getting started

Please help meee, I've been trying for a while but nothing works.
At the "Install patched IOS36" step I do check YES on everything, I press install patched IOS36 then Load IOS from sd card (having beforehand of course installed the corresponding wad file given in the tutorial) and then this message

:
"could not open file sd/ios36-64-v3351.wad
could not open file: sd:/IOS36-64-v3351.wad.out.wad
Error reding IOS into memory
IOS36 Installation failed.
Press any button to exit.."
What should I do??
