PLEASE tell me what to do I installed preloader 0.30 on my 4.2 wii but now it's stuck when I do system menu on preloader nothing happens I still have access to HBC
PLEASE I'm losing it

Thanks ydhainaut it's good but there's always a but my brother tells me about another bug ^^ this time it's when I quit the options menu or sd card I get an error message telling me to restart my wii minor bug but annoying after a while ^^

HELLO AFTER FOLLOWING ALL THE STEPS FOR THE WII 4.2 HACK EVERYTHING WENT PERFECTLY EXCEPT FOR THE Preloader Jodi for 4.2E I HAVE A COMPLETELY BLACK SCREEN CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE.

avoid capital letters "it's like shouting on a forum"

* you're going to launch the preloader, reset while turning on the wii
* you disable the hacks.ini and save

then do system menu!
if everything's fine! it's because you enabled several hacks that are incompatible with each other...
if you have an unreadable white message....
the solution is to re-patch IO70 ...

there, then don't forget to redo a nand backup of your properly hacked wii!

If it's when your SD is in the Wii it might be due to a file still present on the SD that shouldn't be there anymore (Boot.elf at the root for example)

Good evening,
after installing preloader 0.30 I'm forced to start my Wii by pressing reset which launches preloader for me
In preloader, in the settings I did set systemmenu on the first 2 lines
What should I do so that my Wii starts normally

About preloader 0.29 Jodi and enabling hacks that don't work
(block updates from games and skip the health warning)

I didn't reinstall the preloader. However I downloaded the "Hacks.ini creator"
https://www.wii-info.fr/php/download.php?id=256
and I generated a hacks.ini file for a 4.2 E version concerning just these two values.
The modified memory addresses are not the same as the ones in the hacks.ini file supplied with the 4.2 pack from this forum.
So I modified my hacks.ini accordingly and saved the settings. --> it works: the health warning screen appears briefly but doesn't stop and I no longer get update requests from my "Wii Sports Resort"
--> I checked whether the values in the 4.2 pack's hacks.ini matched an NTSC version or a 4.1 E version, but no.
It might be worth checking this file

I have a new question:
how do you remove preloader v0.29? because I can no longer get to the original Wii 4.2e menu.
when I turn it on I end up in the menu of Homebrew Channel.
or the preloader one by pressing reset. but never the Wii's own one, for example for the weather channel or the internet channel or even to be able to get to my Wii's config.
in the preloader options, even though it's simple, I'm clearly missing something.

and I can't find preloader v3.0 version.

Solved: I switched to preloader v3.0 and my original Wii menu came back.

Booting to the preloader page after installation is NORMAL (this is the 3rd time I've said it today). you just need to set the corresponding options to fix the problem (read the pages between 28 and 32 of this forum)

The new preloader version is 0.30, not 3.0 (let's be precise, it's already complicated enough as it is). It seems that in the default options "autoboot" is set to "system menu" from what you're saying.

Glad it works. so you're confirming that preloader 0.30 works fine on a Wii running 4.2. for my part I'm still hesitating to switch (I'm on 0.29)

Do the hacks work? which hacks.ini file are you using?

Thanks thanks, everything worked well, it had been a long time I'd been trying and it didn't work but thanks to your tutorial it worked. Another big thanks for this excellent tutorial. But why do I get a green screen and freeze when I launch a real game? Could you give me an explanation and a way to make it go away. Thanks
