[Tutorial]Download, install and use WBFS Manager

2026 update: WBFS Manager only handles WBFS partitions, which are no longer recommended, and it is known to corrupt them. The tool to use today is TinyWiiBackupManager, and the full walkthrough is in our tutorial Wii: playing your games from a USB hard drive in 2026 (d2x cIOS, WBFS, USB Loader GX).

In this tutorial I will show you how to download, install (on windows) and then install on a hard drive, a USB key or an SD card.

What you need:

[*]A wii (to use the games)
[*]A hard drive, a USB key or an SD card
[*]A computer connected to the internet running recent windows (not windows 95 )
[*](Optional) Know if your computer has a 64 bit OS

1 - Download: (if you don't know, take the 32 bit version) 2 - Install:

Double click on the downloaded file, if you get like the first image, you chose the wrong version. Take the other one.

Click "next"

Check the box "I accept the terms of the License Agreement"

Wait 4.5 seconds then click "next"

3 - Use it:
Open WBFS Manager

Find the right hard drive (don't make a mistake), for me it's K then click "format"

Click "load drive" (normally on the left it will be empty but I already have some games)

Click "Browse..." (bottom right) then search for games (I have 3 to put)

Wait a long time (games are copied to the hard drive)

Ce qu'il vous faut :

[*]Un ordinateur connecté a internet sous windows récent(pas windows 95 )
[*](Optionnel)Savoir si votre ordinateur a un OS 64 bit

1 - Téléchargez : (si vous ne savez pas prenez la version 32 bit) 2 - Installez :

Double cliquez sur le fichier téléchargé, si vous avez comme sur la 1ere image, vous vous êtes trompé de version.Prenez l'autre.


Cliquez sur "next"


Cochez la case "I accept the terms of the License Agreement"


Cliquez sur "next"


Cliquez sur "next"


Cliquez sur "Install"


Attendez 4,5 secondes puis cliquez sur "next"



Décochez la case "Show Readme" puis cliquez sur "finish"

3 - Utilisez :
Ouvrez WBFS Manager


Cherchez le bon disque dur (ne vous trompez),pour moi c'est K puis cliquez sur "formater"


Cliquez sur "charger le lecteur"(normalement a gauche ce sera vide mais j'ai déja quelque jeux)


Cliquez sur "Parcourir..."(en bas a droite)puis cherchez les jeux(j'en ai 3 a mettre)


Attendez longtemps(les jeux sont copiés sur le disque dur)


C'est finis

You say in your title use WBFS Manager, your tutorial only shows a small part of what this software does.
To be a bit more thorough I'll add a tutorial for copying from wbfs to wbvfs, extracting an iso, deleting, renaming, and the fact that you can see the covers on the sides.

Tu dis dans ton titre utiliser WBFS Manager, ton tuto ne présente qu'une petite partie de ce que fais ce soft.
Pour être un peu plus complet je rajouterai un tuto pour copier de wbfs à wbvfs, extraire un iso, supprimer, renommer et le faite que l'on peut voir les covers sur les cotés.

Agreed with Jiwah.
Also, you could better separate your sections, like I had to search to find the "Use" section. So I don't know, maybe bigger, brighter
And I'll fix that right away ^^

De plus, tu pourrais distinguer un peu mieux tes parties, genre j'ai dû chercher pour trouver la partie "Utiliser". Donc j'sais pas, en plus gros, plus brillant

Personally I'd use the "anchor" and "go" bbcodes to make a menu. Look at my ISO HB topic (signature), I did that.
And like Dosce said, work on the presentation a bit. Tough with all these images.

C'est automatique

you can't really call it a compression. WBFS manager only installs the DATA part (games).

on ne peut pas appeler ça une compression. WBFS manager installe uniquement la partie DATA (jeux).

I tested it, everything works great, just one little question. I put a game in that was originally 4.38Go in the window and always stayed at that size, and once put on the HDD it's only 0.82Go?? weird right??

I assume that during the transfer, it removes whatever's useless in the iso file?

no nothing weird... that's the actual size of the game. WBFS only copies that part and it's great for our HDDs
