Forza Motorsport (2005) recompiled natively on PC

By Tgames · · 2 min read

Redline Recompiled 0.1 recompiles the first Forza Motorsport from the Xbox into a native PC game, from your own disc: 144 fps, 4x resolution and ultrawide.

The first Forza on PC

On 6 November 2026, DivxPlays released Redline Recompiled 0.1.0, an unofficial PC port of Forza Motorsport, the first game in the series, released on the original Xbox in 2005. It is a static recompilation: the Xbox's x86 code is translated into 64-bit Windows code, with new layers for graphics, sound and input. The project's own code is under the MIT license.
The download contains nothing from the game: the launcher extracts your own disc, translates the game's code and compiles it on your PC.

What the port offers
  • up to 144 frames per second (30, 60, 120 or 144);
  • a resolution up to 4 times that of the Xbox, with FSR 1, DLSS (RTX card) or FSR 3;
  • the 16:9 and ultrawide 21:9 or 32:9, with the HUD at the screen's edges;
  • keyboard or any controller, 5.1 and 7.1 sound;
  • optionally, 4x textures and upscaled videos, which you make yourself from your own disc.
Xbox Live online play, shut down long ago, and System Link do not work.

What you need
  • Windows 10 or 11 64-bit and a graphics card with DirectX 11.1;
  • your disc image of Forza Motorsport, US version Rev 1 only, as an ISO or a folder. See our Xbox ISO tutorial;
  • Python 3 and the Visual Studio C++ build tools (free), about 6 GB free and an internet connection during the build.

Caution

This is a first version: the author warns that performance may be unstable, and that you should expect bugs and crashes. The README says it plainly: Claude AI (Claude Code) wrote and tested much of the code, together with the author, who played and checked the results. The repository is recent: only download it from its GitHub page. On the Xbox 360 side, Forza Horizon already got the same treatment.
