Project Gotham Racing: the first PGR recompiled natively for PC
The first Project Gotham Racing, released on Xbox in 2001, becomes a native PC game, built at home from your disc: widescreen, wheels, achievements.
PGR on PC, more than twenty years later
PGR1 Recomp, by hk21x, came out as version 1.0 on 23 October 2026. The original Xbox's x86 code is recompiled into a Windows program with Xbox XBE Recomp, and the console's libraries are rewritten for PC: Direct3D 12 or 11, XAudio2 and SDL. It is not an emulator.
