Super Paper Mario recompiled natively on PC, 4K at 240 fps

Super Paper Mario runs natively on Windows and Linux with New Super Paper Bros., a recompilation of the Wii game in 4K, at up to 240 fps and in widescreen.


The 2007 Mario, without Dolphin

New Super Paper Bros. translates the PowerPC code of Super Paper Mario into C++ with the WiiCompiled tool by patchzyy: the game becomes a Windows or Linux program, with no emulator. It is the work of JosiahG, already behind the ports of Smash Bros. Brawl and Smash Bros. for Wii U. Version 1.0.0 came out on 17 October, 1.0.7 on the 31st.


What's new

• Up to 4K, in 16:9, fullscreen or cinema-style 2.39:1, or in the original 4:3.
• Frame interpolation at 120, 180 or 240 fps.
• Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo controllers, keyboard, and the Wii Remote pointer on the right stick or the mouse.
• Drop-in folder mods, higher-quality music and HD textures taken from fan mods.
• (1.0.1) Import of save files from a Wii or Dolphin.
• (1.0.6) An in-game options menu, save anywhere and fast forward.
• (1.0.7) The crash in chapter 6-1 is fixed.

Android (including a RetroArch core) and macOS versions also exist, but you have to build them yourself, and they only work with the US disc.


What you need

64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with DirectX 12 or Vulkan, or 64-bit Linux with Vulkan, and the image of your own disc: US version (R8PE01, revision 0) or European version (R8PP01, with French), as.iso,.ciso or.wbfs. The game files are copied only once. The executable is not signed and the author's account is recent: only download from the repository listed in the sources.
