Super ZSNES 0.320: the Super Nintendo emulator supports RetroAchievements
Super ZSNES, the Super Nintendo emulator rewritten by the two original developers of ZSNES, moves to 0.320 and finally supports RetroAchievements.
The return of ZSNES
ZSNES was one of the most popular Super Nintendo emulators of the 2000s. Its two original developers have reunited for Super ZSNES, completely rewritten: more accurate CPU and sound cores, GPU-based graphics rendering, the classic interface with its falling snow, fast-forward, rewind and save states. It is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. Version 0.320 was announced on 9 October 2026.
What’s new in 0.320
Games enhanced one by one
What makes Super ZSNES special is its “Super Enhancement Engine”: the developers enhance games one by one. Nine are covered so far, including Chrono Trigger, F-Zero, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World and Super Metroid. On the menu: redrawn high-definition graphics, widescreen when the game allows it, uncompressed sound, speed-ups for games prone to slowdown, and 3D depth for Mode 7. Each enhancement can be disabled.
The enhancement data contains nothing from the game: you need your own cartridges. Announced next steps: hardcore mode, custom widescreen and online play. For a solution that covers every console, see our RetroArch guide.
