PCSX2 2.8, shadPS4 0.18 and Dolphin 2609: emulator season returns

The end of summer was rich for emulation, with three major updates in a few weeks.
PCSX2 2.8 (PlayStation 2)
The PS2 emulator was released in version 2.8.0 on August 28, 2026, quickly followed by a 2.8.1 patch on August 30. On the menu: more accurate emulation of certain GPU behaviors, hardware antialiasing on lines and triangles, and new rendering options under Direct3D.
shadPS4 0.18 (PlayStation 4)
The young open source PS4 emulator, available on Windows, Linux and macOS, published its version 0.18.0 on August 18, 2026. The project is progressing quickly and the list of playable games grows with each version.
Dolphin 2609 (GameCube and Wii)
Dolphin published on September 24, 2026 its new stable version 2609, which succeeds 2606 from June. The GameCube/Wii emulator also incorporates this year the emulation of the arcade card Triforce.
