Firmware 23.0.0: wait before updating

Nintendo released on the September 10, 2026 the version 23.0.0 of the Switch and Switch 2 system. The main new feature concerns the Switch 2, which gains the variable refresh rate (VRR) in TV mode, accompanied by the usual "stability improvements".

And Atmosphère?

At the time of release, Atmosphère was not yet compatible with this firmware: the latest published version supports 22.5.0, and work on 23.0.0 is being done in a dedicated branch of the project. Until an official version is released:

• don't update your original system or your emuMMC;
• if you go through an "all-in-one" pack, wait for its authors to update it;
• remember to update Atmosphère and Hekate before the firmware, when the time comes.

We will post news as soon as compatibility is ensured. In the meantime, questions are welcome in the Questions/Help Switch & Wii U.
