elf2jb: the Switch 2 jailbreak launched from a PS5
elf2jb turns a jailbroken PS5 into a server for ns2jb, the Switch 2 jailbreak: no computer needed anymore. But the tool is experimental.
The problem: ns2jb needs a computer
ns2jb, the first Switch 2 jailbreak, is called "tethered": the console has to stay connected to a computer during the exploit, which goes away at every reboot. So you have to turn a PC or a Mac back on every time you want to relaunch your homebrews.
The solution: the PS5 plays the part of the PC
Developer cpypwn opened the elf2jb repository on the evening of October 26, 2026, and released version 0.1.5 overnight into the 27th, under the GPL-3.0 license. The idea: host ns2jb directly on a jailbroken PS5.
Experimental, and that is not a figure of speech
The developer is upfront: the tests were run on a PS5 Pro on 13.60, both consoles connected by Ethernet to the same wired network, and they stopped at step 2 of 4. In other words, nobody has verified yet a complete Switch 2 jailbreak launched from a PS5. Those who want a reliable result should, for now, stick with the usual method using a computer.

- You load the file elf2jb-host.elf on the PS5, with the usual ELF loader;
- the PS5 browser opens by itself on the instructions, which you can also reach from another device at http://adresse-de-la-ps5:8088;
- on the Switch 2, you open SmileBASIC 4 and follow the ns2jb steps;
- if it fails, you restart the Switch 2, reopen SmileBASIC, then choose restart host on the PS5.

What you need
- a jailbroken PS5, so on 13.60 or lower with Relapse;
- a Switch 2 on 23.0.1 with SmileBASIC 4 already installed: the software was pulled from the eShop, so it can no longer be bought;
- ideally, two Ethernet cables and a single network, as in the tests.
