WiiFlow Carbonik Theme

What can I say, except that I greatly thank @mamule for spending so much time updating my theme and thus keeping it alive on the new version of Wiiflow!!

It warms the heart to see that this theme, created now something like 3 years ago, continues to delight Wiiflow users.

Unfortunately I myself no longer have a Wii, nor time to take care of all this.

That's why, once again, I deeply thank (no innuendo intended ) @mamule for the titanic work he put in to update/fix/improve everything!!!

It wasn't a walk in the park for him, because there was quite a bit of work, my original theme was, let's say, cobbled together, with quite a few inconsistencies ^^

Que dire, si ce n'est que je remercie grandement @mamule d'avoir passé tant de temps pour mettre à jour mon thème et ainsi le faire perdurer sur la nouvelle version de Wiiflow !!

Ca fait chaud au coeur de voir que ce thème créé il y a maintenant quelque chose comme 3 ans, continue de ravir les utilisateurs de Wiiflow.

Je n'ai malheureusement moi même plus de Wii, ni de temps pour m'occuper de tout ça.

C'est pourquoi, encore une fois, je remercie profondément (aucun sous-entendu ) @mamule pour le travail titanesque qu'il a fourni pour tout mettre à jour/corriger/améliorer !!!

Ca n'a pas été une partie de plaisir pour lui, parce qu'il y avait pas mal de travail, mon thème original était disons fait de bric et de broc, avec pas mal d'incohérences ^^

Well the sources...there was still a lot missing though...
I was an idiot back then, I should have kept everything I was doing and not erased half of it...
You still managed really well with what little you had, I'm impressed.
And all that in what, 1 short month?

EDIT: if I'm not mistaken, Carbonik was the first theme available for Wiiflow, I really bugg*d Hibern back then to get him to give me the guidelines lol

J'ai été con à l'époque, j'aurais du garder tout ce que je faisais et ne pas en effacer la moitié...
Tu t'es quand même vachement bien débrouillé avec le peu à ta disposition, je suis admiratif.
Et tout ça en quoi, 1 petit mois ?

EDIT : si je ne m'abuse, Carbonik a été le premier thème disponible pour Wiiflow, j'avais bien emme*** Hibern à l'époque pour qu'il me donne les lignes directrices lol

Man, quite a job to understand how it works and the bugs don't help matters.

Ha la la, tout un sport pour en comprendre le fonctionnement et les bugs n'y arrangent rien.

Aaaaah the .ini files.....
My nemesis when I made my themes.
I spent hours editing them, and at first understanding how they worked!
A real mess of a system at first glance like you say, then you get used to it.

Have you already taken a look at Orchid's .ini? it's the most complicated of all I think, with Jiiwah we used the possibilities offered by the .ini to the max, I remember that back then we even asked Rwin (former wiiflow dev) to add options to the ini just for us lol.
What's called the "custom zone" to be able to show or hide stuff depending on whether you're pointing with the wiimote or not.

Ah man, so many memories!! and hours spent with the team on IRC!!

I could almost shed a tear.

EDIT: of course you can do whatever you want with all my themes with no restriction at all!!
I'd love to see Green updated too, it was my favorite after Orchid.
Especially the wall-shaped coverflows!!

Ma bête noire quand j'ai créé mes thèmes.
J'en ai passé des heures à les modifier, et au départ à en comprendre le fonctionnement !
Une vraie usine à gaz au premier abord comme tu dis, ensuite on en prend l'habitude.

Tu as déjà jeté un oeil au .ini de Orchid ? c'est le plus compliqué de tous je crois, avec Jiiwah on avait utilisé au maximum les possibilités offertes par le .ini, je me rappelle qu'à l'époque on avait même demandé à Rwin (ancien dev de wiiflow) de rajouter des options au ini rien que pour nous lol.
Ce qu'on appelle les "custom zone" pour pouvoir faire apparaitre ou disparaitre des trucs selon si on pointe avec la wiimote ou pas.

Ah la la la, que de souvenirs !! et d'heures passées avec la team sur IRC !!

Limite j'en verserais une larme.

Ca me plairait bien de voir Green à jour également, c'était mon préféré après Orchid.
Surtout les coverflow en forme de mur !!

Orchid is indeed the most polished, for me it's the most beautiful of the Wiiflow themes.
It's also very sober I find.
I'm extremely proud of it.

Gotta say we spent hours with Jiiwah polishing it!!
My sweet dream would have been for it to become Wiiflow's default theme, but well...

All this started from a mockup by Roku_93 on GBAtemp, which he kindly passed on to me.
He didn't have time to develop the theme and had just made a "preview" image.
From that I developed all the theme's images, and Jiiwah handled a good chunk of the .ini and especially the forwarder!!

Anyway I'm off topic there lol

Back to Carbonik, yes it's not as simple as it looks, but it's still clearly less polished than Orchid ^^ you can tell it was my first one!!

Orchid est le plus abouti en effet, c'est pour moi le plus beau des thèmes Wiiflow.
Il est très sobre en plus je trouve.
J'en suis extrèmement fier.

Faut dire qu'on en a passé des heures avec Jiiwah pour le peaufiner !!
Mon doux rêve aurait été qu'il soit le thème par défaut de Wiiflow, mais bon...

By the way I read your post on GBA, about the emptyfont story.
What's this story about text on the "main buttons".
The emptyfont font I put in carbonik was never used for that, there was no text on those buttons before...
It was only used to not display the games' titles.
That must have been added afterward...
So indeed if you replace it with another font it's going to look ugly lol!!

Au fait j'ai lu ton post sur GBA, pour l'histoire de emptyfont.
C'est quoi cette histoire de texte sur les "main buttons".
La police emptyfont que j'ai mis dans carbonik n'a jamais servi à ça, y'avait pas de texte sur ces boutons avant...
Elle servait uniquement à ne pas afficher les titres des jeux.
Ca a du être rajouté par la suite ça...
Du coup effectivement si on la remplace par une autre font ça va faire degueu lol !!
