cBoot252

cBoot252 Neither I nor the Tgames forum can be held responsible for any problems resulting from using this application. So know that you use it at your own risk. JoostinOnline has just released cBoot252, a modification of Bootmii as an IOS and of cBoot2.
With this application, you'll be able to launch cBoot2 with bannerbomb, smashstack, and also with the Homebrew Channel, a channel, and finally the priiloader/postLoader.
Changelog
v1.1
-Updated Wii Mod to v2.9.
-Removed wiimod folder and wiimod.txt, as support for cBoot252 is now built into Wii Mod.

v1.0b
-Added new HBC icon to Full and HBC packs (thanks fraggelpower666)
-Channel has a new banner and icon (thanks fraggelpower666)
-Changed "BootIOS Mod" to "cBoot252"

v1.0
-First public release
Developer's instructions
All versions can also be launched from the Priiloader. Packs with * can be launched with the postLoader.
The full version lets you use all the methods.
The packs can be combined if you want.
You can replace load.dol with any software that doesn't reload the IOS.

Extract the content of your chosen archive to the root of your SD card. Install "IOS252.wad" and "cBoot252 - B252.wad" with wadmanager. You'll need a fakesigned AHBPROT IOS to do this. You now have cBoot252 installed!
Note: If you're using component cables, delete or rename startup.elf and replace it with startup-comp.elf.
Instructions for each method will be added soon.

:| I already had trouble understanding some things back in the cboot2 days  ......

Let me explain, when installing cboot2 to recover the armboot.bin does something get installed on the Wii? If so, where? apparently not on an IOS since it didn't show up on my syscheck.

Now apparently there's an IOS 252 in Wad form in the archive, ok! with a channel to launch cboot252, I quote:
JoostinOnline: "Load cboot2 through a custom channel (included)" = I assume that's the "cboot252 - B252.wad" contained in the wad folder of the archive.
So far so good.

Now for the Homebrew to launch with HBC, what does it act as, an installer, or does it just launch cboot252, and if so do you need to install the IOS 252 and the cboot252 channel first?

Then I assume the private Games folder should be renamed "private", the one for launching cboot252 with the Smash Stack, Indiana thing exploits etc....

Same for the "private BB1" folder for BannerBomb v1 and the "private BB2" folder for Bannerbomb v2.

The startup.elf file ok that's like cboot2, but what's the startup-comp.elf file for?

Should the bootcb2 folder be renamed to bootmii, so it can be launched with bootmii?

As for the boot.dol, boot.elf and load.dol files (the ones at the root), what do they correspond to? is that wadmanager to put at the root like cboot2, or are they the files for Bannerbomb, and which one corresponds to what?

Am I the only one struggling this much? I think the author could have put a little "readme" in the archive, that would have been nice.

Thanks Kalidor :bravo:

"Note: If you're using component cables, remove or rename startup.elf and replace it with startup-comp.elf."
Cool that already answers one of the questions I had.

"Instructions for each method will be added soon."
Wait and see then....

Actually if it's like cboot2, it lets you run a patched IOS without installing it using the BootMii loader which will let you, for example, launch WadManager, DopMii or others in order to install an IOS, system menu etc...
Which would be handy, for example to install the IOS matching your System Menu then the SM to be able to unbrick without having to do a NAND restore (Very useful if you can no longer launch the HBC and don't want to risk a restore, or if that's impossible).
