any news about the UPDATE to 3.42?

Hello to you all (and to you ladies too?),

I'm coming back to you to find out if anyone knew of any date or (source) regarding the ps3's update to 3.42.?
yeah unfortunately I'm there and I'm currently wondering if I shouldn't just directly buy a good internal hdd (mine is 40 go) and start from zero (by buying the ps3key) and put everything on 3.41.

Since you're all ACES in these matters I was telling myself...

The psjailbreak team has promised an update for their dongle on October 20 that will be compatible with 3.42 and 3.50, so we still have to wait 2 more days. What firmware are you on (hacking the ps3 with 3.41 and below)

*so you're already on 3.42....

*you can't downgrade your PS3's firmware by replacing the internal hard drive.
otherwise yes I advise you to replace this (measly 40gb) with a bigger HDD, minimum 320gb max 640gb

as usual a big thanks for your quick and above all very accurate replies (salahpayne / darkscad). I did indeed explain myself badly in my previous message. I'm unfortunately on 3.42 and I was waiting for a dongle that could get past this firmware. I still haven't cracked my ps3 for now... well I think I'm going to wait a bit longer because the psjailbreak still seems expensive to me (fingers crossed that the ps3key does it quickly)

If the psjailbreak becomes compatible with 3.42, 3.50 the others will too (after all they're clones) and you won't have to buy it.

any news about the UPDATE to 3.42?
