Here's the statement
I know, it's been a long time, and believe me, a lot of things have happened. So I thought I should give you some information and give you a little something to think about. Important things first. During the last update and other things we were working on, we realized there were a few issues in the system kernel that required an update.
I want to make it clear that RxE uses the same base as Freestyle Dash but contains a different piece at the software level, which makes these two different things.
Now that we've rewritten the content scanner, database access and structure, ported a new HTTP server and updated it to use the new HTTP client included in the SDK (Kinect uses a new interface provided with the latest SDK).
The system runs faster and more smoothly than before but, to this day, we still don't have content loading so there won't be a pre-release or a new informative update.
We've moved debugging to an external DLL in order to avoid spamming users' networks to reduce interference.
The most outstanding work concerns content loading and display, an overhaul of the SMB storage infrastructure resulting in an update of the FTP server to a new system. All disk interactions will go through a central manager. Just like all services. Such as, for example, the network, SQL content.
No more data will be exposed directly. This gives us security and control without loss of power and features. We also took the opportunity to change the source of covers which will no longer be taken from the official marketplace but from covers.jqe360.com, which will allow having fully 3D covers by default. So yes, try to keep the covers site up to date.
So for those interested, RxE is in the works and will be distributed when it's ready. We're also working with other groups from the XBOX scene in order to include the maximum number of options and features that are available.
Yes RxE is going to be awesome and there will be a large number of exciting things included. It'll be ready when it's ready and it'll be great.
We're also considering integrating more online features like private messages and the ability to have video or voice chats via XBSlink or XLinkKai
