PL3 File Permissions Fix Kmeaw CFW festizio released on the #ps3test channel a small utility that fixes freeze issues on the Kmeaw CFW after using a backup, notably on an external HDD.

Indeed, it seems many people encounter installation and launch issues with backups following a problem in the PL3 that affects file permissions.

Here's a solution that should therefore put an end to the black screen or disc read error issues:

1. Launch multiMAN, blackb0x, or any FTP server and transfer your backups to the PS3
2. Run the PKG LV2
3. Run the PS3 File Permissions Fix PKG

The application will scan your console's hard drive and fix the permission errors that appear with the PL3. You must perform this operation after each game transferred to your console.

For example, if you transfer 5 backups, then run the fix, it will fix the problem for those 5 games. You won't need to run it again until you copy new games onto your console.
