This is just a translation of a method originally in English.
How to launch a homebrew from a disc, one that doesn't contain any patched system IOS.
You need to have already patched (before the brick) IOS 36 using TBR or Dop-Mii or another method.
Of course, you don't have preloader, priiloader or bootmii (otherwise there's a simpler way)
What we're trying to do with this method: load WadManager 1.4 from an autoboot disc on a Wii with a banner brick
Required
possible backup launch via savemii/savemiifrii (gc-controller) or backup autoboot via the chip
IOS 36 Trucha-patched before the brick
You need a chip, configured for autoboot, and set to 'region free'
The backup of the game "Castlevania Judgment"
2 DVDs
Download
WadManager_1.4.dol
WiiScrubber 1.4
Castlevania Judgment PAL
Castlevania Judgment NTSC
Preparation
burn the unmodified game (just Trucha-patched) onto a DVD => this will be the "clean" disc
Launch WiiScrubber and load the game's ISO
Go to Partition 1 - data
Right-click on main.dol
Then replace
Select the dol of the homebrew to launch, here WadManager_1.4.dol
the name "main.dol" must not change
Exit WiiScrubber
Burn the modified game onto another DVD => this will be the "modified" disc
Execution Savemiifree
Start the Wii and launch the recovery menu via savemii/savemiifrii
You should see a black screen with the system menu version displayed chip autoboot
just set the chip for autoboot of backups
Insert the "clean" Castlevania Judgment disc, it should boot
Let the game launch and go all the way to the cutscene, at that point, eject the disc
You should see "error please insert Castlevania Judgment disk"
Insert the "modified" disc instead
The intro cutscene starts again, then go to the main menu (after having created the save, the name...)
Press :wiihome: then "Restart"
Wadmanager 1.4 launches (normally)
All that's left is to fix the Wii by uninstalling the faulty WADs, installing a clean system menu or the missing IOSes....
If WadManager doesn't launch and the Wii reboots when trying to launch the homebrew, it means the Wii didn't have the patched IOS 36
If the patched game starts on a black screen, redo the process with the DVDs or try a dol from another homebrew
Games that use IOS 36: Mario Kart, SSBB, Castlevania Judgment
Mario Kart - doesn't work with this method
SSBB - ntsc doesn't work, maybe the PAL version
