I'd be tempted to test this on my wii, in order I need to restore the trucha, then install CIOCORPS, then STARPATCH, right?

Yeah...but they're not going to say: No our softmii 3.5V2 is crap and da letter a's is better than us...personally I'm hesitating, personally I'm waiting till the 31st to test da letter a's.
Because if I understood correctly there's the softmii 3.5V2 which would be better than da letter A's ciospack 3.5 which comes out on the 31st? is that what's being said? personally I'm waiting to see the tests etc and to see written: YES softmii 3.5V2 is the best, or else Da letter A released a ciospack Better than softmii 3.5V2 =)

and if that's not possible, is it possible to remove softmii so the wii goes back to how it was before?

yes, to "install" wiihome you need to have installed the preloader..

oui , pour "installer" wiihome il faut avoir installer le preloader..

leave the one from preloader 0.30, the hack.ini file is only used by the preloader, softmii will add exactly the same hack.ini

laisse celui du preloader 0.30 , le fichier hack.ini et seulement utilisait par le preloader , softmii va rajouter exactement le même hack.ini

is cioscorp compatible with wii 4.2 because my wii is on 4.2 and I don't want to brick.....

It does work but this version is buggy, wait for the 31st of October and look at my ciospack topic
