:o What do you mean not tested!!?? Didn't you do an official 4.2 update just for us!!?? :93: Not tested... you don't say :D

Seriously there should be 2 tests to run. one on an official update, the other on a waninkoko update. But coming from Comex we can be pretty sure it'll work on both.

Thanks for the news. :bravo:

hi everyone as I said last time I tried out waninkoko's 4.2 firmware and it works flawlessly, since I had no use for 4.2 I downgraded without any issues with cios downgrader and went back to 3.2 so it does work with waninkoko's firmware so now we just need to find out about the official one, later

I was on V3.4 and I ran waninkoko's update to get to 4.2 (crazy me!) and it wiped my HBC :o

It also wiped my preloader, so I'm in trouble.

So I tried the bannerbomb, everything went fine except I still don't have HBC!

SOS

Thanks

hi

for your little problem try this:

Ok I managed to get everything back Grin

A little link helped me a lot: https://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/24585-how-restore-homebrew-channel-wii-system-menu-4-2-a-12.html ( DON'T WORRY ABOUT POINT 1- AND REMEMBER TO REGISTER

Small detail, my old system was on 3.2 with usbloader and I went straight to 4.2. Obviously after that nothing worked anymore.

So here's what I did:
- Installed the homebrew channel (wad version - see link above) using ios 250 with wad manager 1.5. Wad manager is launched from the bannerbomb.
- So I got the homebrew channel version 1.0.3
- From that I was able to install Waninkoko's cIOS38_rev14 (still on ios 250)
- At this point I could access my usb_loader again
- Then to update the homebrew channel, I installed ios 34 and 36 which I'd gotten thanks to NUS, from ios250 on wad manager
- And when I go back to the homebrew channel, I accept the update, and then I no longer have the vulnerable ios not found problem.
- At this point I end up with 2 homebrew channels (one at 1.0.3 and one at 1.0.5). Just uninstall the 1.0.3 one with wad manager.
- Now everything works Cool

All that's left is to add whatever channels you want

I did it last night and it works perfectly

good luck

Thanks for your answer.

I tried installing the HBC with wad manager like you wrote. The process runs with no errors but still no HBC in the end

I'm continuing my research.

Hi,

I just tried and it's the same, it doesn't find a vulnerable ios so it doesn't continue the install.

The bannerbomb works and maybe I could run programs to downgrade the version?

Phew!!

I got the HBC back by installing ios 34. I'll be able to continue :accord:

Small detail, I put everything on ios250 as explained above.

Hi everyone,

I'd be interested in the method that let you install ios 34, like you said just before. Because I have the same problem as you, namely my homebrew channel disappearing once the 4.2 firmware was updated (waninkoko) and, like you it seems, when I try to reinstall the new HBC, it tells me there's no vulnerable ios and only offers to exit.

Anyway, I need help...

[Edit] I finally found how to install ios 34, except I no longer have access to the HBC, so I'm stuck...

[Edit 2] Can't say I'm giving up... I'm still looking, I found how to install ios34 via the bannerbomb (I renamed wadmanager to boot.dol), but even though the install went very well, I still don't have the HBC. I'm really starting to lose hope here...

[Edit 3] Aaaaaaaaaaaah that's it, I finally managed to get everything back in order.
So for info (in case others run into the problem):
1 - I got the bannerbomb which I put on an SD card
2 - I grabbed Nis Downloader to get IOS34-64-v3091 in wad format and copied it into the Wad folder of my SD card.
3 - I grabbed Wadmanager which I renamed to boot.dol and placed at the root of the
SD card.
4 - I launched wadmanager via the bannerbomb and reinstalled ios 34
5 - I wiped everything off my SD card to only put hackmii on it (abd6a_v200 + hackmii installer 0.5 bannerbomb)
6 - I launched the bannerbomb and reinstalled the Homebrew Channel.

And there you go, everything's fixed up perfectly! (Except I no longer have preloader... :s)

Exact same!

But I still managed to install the preloader, but I haven't configured it yet. I'll let you know tonight.

So did you stay on 4.2 like me? I installed cioscorp rev14, it seems to work properly.

Yeah, same, I'm on rev14 and everything that used to work still works now (except the preloader which I haven't reinstalled... don't feel like messing around anymore).
